CASS COUNTY, Ind. - One woman is dead, and two other individuals are injured after a crash in Cass County on Tuesday.
Emergency crews were dispatched April 8 at approximately 3:05 p.m. on a report of a two-vehicle crash on US 24 at the County Road 600 East Intersection.
According to a press release from the Cass County Indiana Sheriff's Office, a Logansport woman was driving a 2009 Ford Escape northbound on County Road 600 E when she allegedly crossed eastbound lanes of US 24 and entered the westbound lanes of US 24. Authorities allege that she was, "failing to yield the right of way to a westbound passenger vehicle," as stated in the release.
Her Ford Escape was then struck by a Nissan Rogue driving westbound. The driver of the Nissan and a three-year-old were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Carrie March, 47, of Logansport was flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. March later died from injuries sustained during the crash.
