Court docs: Teacher kissed student in school office, professed his 'love' at church to her mom

DALEVILLE, Ind. - A Daleville High School teacher and basketball coach has been fired after he reportedly sexually assaulted a student while at the school and in her home.




Brady Smith, 27, was charged with three counts of child seduction, a Level 6 Felony.




Officers with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested a teacher after he allegedly seduced a juvenile since approximately Aug. 2024, when he allegedly told the girl that she had "matured" since last year. Throughout the school year, he repeatedly told her that he wanted to have sex.

To further his advances, Smith reportedly began going to the same church as the minor. He allegedly went to the juvenile's residence three times and committed sex acts on the child while her parents were out of town.




According to court documents, Smith said that he was thinking about their future and that he would divorce his wife to be with her.








On March 16, he went to the church and spoke with the girl's mom and reportedly "professed his love for her." The parents reported the information to the superintendent's office.
