IMPD: Open container found in mangled vehicle after crash sends 2 to hospital


INDIANAPOLIS - Two people were transported to a hospital after a suspected drunk driving crash on Sunday afternoon.




According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the collision occurred in the 8300 block of Wilson Road shortly before 2:30 p.m. on the city's northwest side near Eagle Creek.




The Pike Township Fire Department said two vehicles were involved in the crash. Photographs shared by the fire department show a mangled vehicle lying on its side.

Two patients were extricated by firefighters and taken to a hospital for treatment. The severity of their injuries wasn't disclosed.




A police report reveals a 35-year-old Brownsburg woman was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle with an open alcoholic container.
