Rapper/star NBA basketball player Shaquillle O’Neal will don his producer hat on September 8th with Codeblack’s DVD release of The All-Star Comedy Jam series.

The comedy series, which was originally taped live in Phoenix, Arizona before the NBA All-Star Game, features standup routines by host Cedric The Entertainer, Tommy Davidson, Aries Spears, Kevin Hart and DeRay Davis.

O’Neal produced the 88-minute DVD in conjunction with Jeff Clanagan’s Codeblack Entertainment, one of the first modern African-American owned, new media/entertainment companies.

"I am excited to partner with a veteran like Jeff Clanagan and I am thrilled to be venturing into the comedy and television world," Shaq said of the DVD’s release in a statement.

In addition to backstage commentary from each comedian, the All Star Comedy Jam series DVD features guest appearances from fellow comedian Katt Williams and Hip-Hop couple Nelly and Ashanti.

According to AllHipHop.com, Nas wasn't allowed access to the hospital to be present for his son's birth.

A source close to Nas told AllHipHop.com that the Queen's rapper missed the actual child birth.

“Nas is in New York City today, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his son. It was his intention to be there for the birth, but unfortunately he has not been allowed to be present,” a source close to the rapper told AllHipHop.com. “While this is clearly heartbreaking to him, Nas continues to offer his support and love to his new baby boy and his mother.”

Nas and Kelis were due in court today in regards to their pending divorce, specifically child and spousal support.

The 2009 Texas Urban Music Summit (Texas U.M.S) gears up to take place June 5-7 in Dallas, TX at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Sean "Diddy" Combs and pioneer mogul Russell Simmons were Hip-Hop's biggest winners at the 2009 NAACP Image Awards.

The taped event was broadcast last night (February 12) from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Combs picked up Best Actor in a Television Movie honors for his work in the well-received, 2008 adaption of Lorraine Hansberry's timeless play A Raisin in the Sun.
