Police in the UK have revealed that they will monitor Hip-Hop and the clubs that play the genre of music.
Over 270 venues in London must fill out Form 696, which promoters must fill out so police can gather information on artists, promoters and venues.
According to the BBC, a new version of the form has been released to specifically target "MC's and DJ's performing to recorded tracks."
"Detailed research identified which events are most likely to attract crime and disorder," a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said. "At the end of the day, you've got to say that certain events attract more trouble than others. We're shifting the focus away from live music. Originally the definition of what Form 696 applied to was extremely broad so by narrowing it down, it's thought that we can better tailor it to our requirements."
The data collected from Form 696 will allow authorities to provide extra security for...More UK Hip-Hop Send Blog · Share on Facebook · Bookmark on Delicious | Posted by newsngossip

The talented young singer, who rose to international stardom after winning British TV talent show X-Factor, was taken to a local London hospital as a precaution but required no serious treatment. Having been the first female Brit to take the number one spot in the US charts in 20 years with her 2008 hit ballad 'Bleeding Love', Lewis has an expansive fanbase and is generally well-respected for being a rare positive role model within the Entertainment industry.
Prior to the violent outburst, Lewis stated that she was "so glad at the turnout" for the event. In the short interview with the Associated Press, she humbly said, "It's amazing. I can't believe people are coming to support and I am just very thankful." She also explained that she was excited about her forthcoming album.
A spokesman for Lewis explained that she was "absolutely gutted she did not get the signings finished." He then added that for a man to strike a women in that manner was "beyond cowardly." A representative for Waterstone's Piccadilly bookstore also stated that they take security at book signings "extremely seriously," before admitting this that was the first time such an incident had occured at an event.
According to a police spokesperson, a 29-year-old man has been arrested following the attack; the suspect currently remains in custody and is being questioned by the authorities. Lewis, who cancelled a scheduled appearance on a BBC evening magazine show following the incident, has reportedly now confirmed to police that she intends to press charges for the assault. NEW YORK " It isn't unusual to see lines of young people stretching down the block in downtown New York for various reasons. Those in line at the Billionaire Boys Club/ Ice Cream store Thursday evening were waiting to grab an exclusive hat and T-shirt and, oh yeah, to meet super-producer, N.E.R.D. frontman and fashion icon Pharrell Williams.
As part of Fashion's Night Out, a citywide initiative to boost the retail industry, Pharrell worked behind the register at the Soho location of his BBC/ Ice Cream brand. Fans started to line up before the store opened at noon, even though Pharrell wasn't scheduled to arrive until 6 p.m. He said he was fortunate to receive such a turnout.
"I feel blessed. I know that none of this had to be," said Pharrell, who had performed with N.E.R.D. the night before. "I could be in many different places, and fortunately I'm here."
Pharrell founded the brand in 2005 along with A Bathing Ape creator Nigo. The brand is known for its T-shirts, denim, sweatshirts and sneakers in a variety of vivid colors featuring imaginative logos and patterns.
Pharrell said the kids who support the brand embrace it, but they make it their own. "We look at these kids as soldiers, not necessarily to...More PHARRELL WILLIAMS Send Blog · Share on Facebook · Bookmark on Delicious
