It could have been! The taping event for Episode 4 had been dubbed "The Invasion of Athens." But we are "live" not "evil" (which is just the opposite... if you REALLY think about it), so we went with "A Whole Lotta A," as guest artists from our Live From...Birmingham (Alabama) show, joined by some Atlanta artists, would be welcomed to Tasty World in Athens (Georgia), by Laura and Wil of Mantooth Music, to tape Live From... in Athens (e.g. Live From...Athens)!
Aaaaa...So much LOVE (we love our Mantooth Music Family); and so much LOVELY - as first guest AMY BRAY brought MODELS with her (rowwwrrr)! And our lovely hostess GEM AVERY kept the show flowing into our musical segment featuring spirit-filled gospel quintet THE WARDLAW BROTHERS (aka TWB5)!
Oh what a night!

A solid fact or something that is real without a doubt is what is considered as TRUTH. Something that most of us were not brought up with. Something that we have to find in order to know that it is TRUTH. Where do you find TRUTH if it hasn't been told to you? If your eyes can't see the TRUTH by reading it, where is the TRUTH found? If your ears only hear that which is a lie, how can you sit up and listen to someone speaking the TRUTH?
As children we have been educated by parents, kin folk, friends, teachers and preachers. We have looked to them for giving us a strong and firm foundation for that which we have learned. Our minds are incapable of not holding that information and putting it to use in the lives that we live. We hope that that which was given to us to grow on was indeed the reality of the ways in which we live. But as we grow to using our skills and knowledge, we experience that all that was taught was not all TRUTH. There were some twists and turns that had to be rerouted in order for us to stay on the righteous path.
Today there are so many books. There are so many videos. There are so many people who say that they know that which is the TRUTH but do they really. In seeking TRUTH, one have to know that in one reality there is another that claims it to be false. This source may have the sun shining through the clouds and another will say that clouds cover the sun, while yet another says that although the sun is not seen it still shines. So as we seek out the TRUTH of the sun and how it shines, which of these statements are TRUTH?
There are so many bibles and books of history and all of them want you to believe that the TRUTH lies in them. They are all probably right. And if we really know TRUTH we all should know that the TRUTH never lies. No matter how it is written, no matter how it is said and no matter how you see it, TRUTH will never allow you to be false, a liar, the bearer of false doctrine; it just will not contain anything that will make you doubt.
There are so many of us who want to believe in science, religion and even ecology. There are so many truths in each of them and there also lies half-truths. For this reason they are all at the scrutiny of those who are seeking TRUTH. What you believe to be, is.
The TRUTH is something that has been in you from the time you were conceived. It will never be told to you because they who you TRUST have no idea of how simple TRUTH really is. If you have been taught by someone who does not know TRUTH, you will not know the TRUTH. You have to know that there is only ONE TRUTH. There is only ONE ABSOLUTE. There is only ONE GOD. This means that the only TRUTH is ALMIGHTY GOD, YAHWEH.
It has been written that in order to know HIM WHO IS SPIRITUAL you have to be SPIRITUAL or in a SPIRITUAL mind. You can't be of the flesh to understand that which is Spiritual. You must know that mankind is not only flesh but Spiritual as well. For this reason we can't be duplicated. Twins, triplets or quadruplets each are one independent Spirit within one flesh. So when we are seeking that which is Spiritual, we must become that which is Spiritual. We must search deep within ourselves in order for us to be Spiritual.
You must focus on the specifics of child birth in order to know how your Spirit functions. Living organisms that have purpose. Things that are no seen but live just as mankind. You are here to serve a purpose. In order for that purpose to be served TRUTHFULLY you must know how to find it. You cannot be told it, if you don't know how to obtain it. So in everything you do, listen to what has been said to you. Look up those things that you find difficult to understand. Then close your eyes and become the Spirit that is within you. It is not hard to do.
We all hear voices from within us. Though many people have been used to show that these voices can prove us to be insane, we must know that this is because TRUTH is not to be kno Send Blog · Share on Facebook · Bookmark on Delicious LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – John Walker, a member of the 1960s pop trio the Walker Brothers, has died in Los Angeles, a statement on his web site said. He was 67, and had reportedly been suffering from liver cancer. He died at his home on Saturday evening. The Walker Brothers -- who were not brothers, nor named Walker in real life -- enjoyed bigger success in Britain than in their native United States. Bandmate Scott Walker retains a large cult following across Europe. The group topped the U.K. charts with covers of "Make It Easy On Yourself" and "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore." The songs peaked at No. 16 and No. 13, respectively, in the U.S. They formed in Hollywood in 1964, and promptly moved to London where they secured a recording contract. Their version of Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "Make it Easy On Yourself," first popularized by soul singer Jerry Butler, was released in 1965. "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore," first sung by Frankie Valli, came out the following year. They broke up in 1968, but a mid-1970s reunion yielded a top-10 U.K. hit with a version of Tom Rush's "No Regrets." All told, the group sold more than 23 million records, according to Walker's Web site. John Walker was born John Maus in New York City in 1943, and raised in the Los Angeles area. After working as an actor and session musician, he formed the Walker Brothers with Noel Engel (Scott Walker) and Gary Leeds (Gary Walker). His role as lead vocalist was gradually taken over by Scott Walker. "He was also a fantastic guitarist which a lot of people didn't realize," Gary Walker said in a statement. "He was a compassionate song-writer and a gentleman with lots of style. "The three of us had the most incredible adventure together, all the time not realizing that we were part of pop history in the making. His music will live on, and therefore so will John," he added. "I made a lot of friends. I was treated like a king. I had all of the respect that one would want. And it's a part of that that I miss — when I say I miss, I miss the people that I met," said the 69-year-old with the golden tenor. "When I first went in there, there were 300 people there and those 300 people were behind me 100 percent, and when I say 100 percent, I really mean that," he added. "'What can we get for you? Do you need this, do you need that?' ... 24 hours a day, and that's a blessing." Isley's prison experience was probably a bit different from the average person incarcerated for a tax offense. But the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer doesn't credit his good fortune to his legendary status. Instead, he credits a more potent factor. "We have a lot of faith in God, No. 1, and we always know that he's with us, so that will carry you through anything," he said. That faith led Isley to believe there were better days ahead, and his faith appears to have paid off: He recently released a new album, "Mr. Isley," and has a Grammy nomination for one of the key tracks: a duet with Aretha Franklin on the classic "You've Got a Friend." "I was always fascinated how this man who made his first song in 1959 ... was able to reinvent himself decade after decade after decade," said Antonio "L.A." Reid, chairman of Island Def Jam, which released Isley's latest project. "This man is as much of an icon as Mick Jagger. This man is as much of an icon as Elton John ... Stevie Wonder." While Isley's name isn't as iconic as those men, there's a strong argument that his music has been as influential. As part of The Isley Brothers, his contributions to music have been formidable: "Fight the Power," "Between the Sheets," "For the Love of You," "It's Your Thing" and "That Lady" have become pop and soul classics and, through sampling, hip-hop favorites over five decades. And when other veterans found themselves singing cover tunes to remain relevant, Isley connected with a new generation through the gangster alter-ego Mr. Biggs, linking with R. Kelly, Lil Kim and others to generate hits. Isley had just released an album with his brother Ernie, "Baby Makin' Music," and had another hit, "Just Came Here to Chill," when he was sentenced in 2006 to three years in prison for failure to pay taxes. Isley, who still proclaims his innocence, said the government tried to get him to take a plea deal and spend a few months in jail. "I didn't want to go away for no time at all, so I figure, being that I'd been to court over a 100 times that this would be something that would go away," he said. "I was wrong in figuring that." Isley was a new father when he went to prison (his son is now 3); he also left behind his wife. It wasn't really behind bars: Isley describes it as sort of a "camp" with plenty of open space. But there were plenty of restrictions. "You were just held away from what you wanted to do. All the telephone calls, you gotta go to bed a certain time," he said. Isley sang about once a month and participated in some shows there. He dreamed of recording a new album. "I wanted to make an album that was special ... that was, 'Wow, he did this?'" Isley said. (May 7, 2010 - New York, NY) Legendary Def Jam/Def Soul artist Ronald Isley returned to the world two weeks ago, and now picks up where he left off as senior member and lead singer of first generation Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers the Isley Brothers - with news of "The Celebration Tour" starting next weekend, and recording sessions underway for his first solo album release in seven years.
"The Celebration Tour" opens with a New Jersey-New York homecoming at Board Walk Hall in Atlantic City and the Uptown Paradise Theater in the Bronx on May 8th and 9th, respectively. The tour's first leg wraps up at the Bonelli Park Jazz Festival in San Dimas, California on July 18th. Along the way, Ron will perform in the Caribbean on Tom Joyner's Sea Cruise, May 17-18th. The aptly-titled "Celebration Tour" marks the first headÃÆ'‚¬lining trip under the Isley banner since March-April 2007. (Please see complete itinerary below.)
Meanwhile, Ron has already begun recording a new album - his first new solo project since the 2003 tribute album, Here I Am: Ron Isley Sings Burt Bacharach. Further details on the new album will be announced in the weeks and months ahead.
Ron's new album will be the first to bear the Isley imprint since Baby Makin' Music, released May 2006 on Def Jam/Def Soul Recordings. The album, which hit #1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and #5 on the pop side, spun off the R&B hit, "Just Came Here to Chill." At the 21st annual Soul Train Music Awards in March 2007, the records were nominated respectively for Best R&B/Soul Album by a Group, Band or Duo, and Best R&B Soul Single by a Group, Band or Duo.
The Isley Brothers first arrived at Island Records in 1996, with the #2 R&B album, Mission To Please. The album struck RIAA platinum on the strength of the #1 R&B/ #4 pop hit single, "Down Low" with R. Kelly. In addition to R. Kelly, contributing producers and co- writers included Babyface and Keith Sweat, among the many artists whose lives and music were inspired by the Isley Brothers. It was followed by the RIAA platinum #1 R&B/#3 pop Eternal (Dreamworks, 2001), which introduced Ron's alter ego, Mr. Biggs, and featured the pop/R&B crossover hit, "Contagious," also written and produced by R. Kelly. The RIAA gold #1 Pop/ #1 R&B Body Kiss (Dreamworks, 2003) was a collaboration with younger brother Ernie, and yielded the Top 15 R&B hit, "What Would You Do?"
The Isley Brothers have the distinction of placing hit singles on the pop and R&B charts in every decade of the rock era - the 1950s, '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, and '00s.
