Def Jam singer & songwriter August Alsina drops the 'love' track for 4/20... love for that 'Mary Jane' like Rick James. "Let Me Hit That" produced by Cassius Jay features fellow New Orleans emcee Curren$y, and will appear on August Alsina's new mixtape "The Product II" due out May 6, 2013. For now you can blaze up to this new single that's been stuck in my head since I first heard it....
Last night I went to the BMI Unsigned Urban Showcase at Terminal West in Atlanta. It was the first time I've gone since they had Lil Wayne at Luckie Lounge. If you've never been, it's a showcase where unsigned artists perform for a panel of expert judges...then the night ends with a headliner. It's kind of ironic that after having folks like Wanye and Drake perform, that former Young Money artist Curren$y was this year's headliner.
Curren$y wastes no time releasing videos off his recent mixtape New Jet City mixtape. In order to understand New Jet City you have to be 'Livin' For The City'.
Brooklyn by way of Toronto beatsmith Marco Polo put his ill touch on Talib Kweli's "Push Thru" record featuring Curren$y & Kendrick Lamar. Perfect timing to release this remix with the Brooklyn emcee poised to drop his "Prisoner Of Conscious" album in the near future.
