J. Keys cast his vote for Barack Obama for a second term. While on the road, Keys took time to speak about the issues most important to him and let us in on his thought process.
He says, "One of the most pressing things for me is the health care act, I'm glad that President Obama was able to get that pushed through." Keys expressed his disdain for Republican nominee Mitt Romney's plan to repeal the health care act. "I'm going and cast my vote right now and you should cast your vote too" said Keys. No matter your political affiliation stand up and make your vote count.
The 2012 United States presidential election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. It will be the 57th quadrennial presidential election in which presidential electors, who will officially elect the president and the vice president of the United States on December 17, 2012, will be chosen.
On the heels of sweeping the New York Yankees, J. Keys took to the streets of the Bronx to endorse the Detroit Tigers in the World Series and fire warning shots at the San Francisco Giants.
Keys went on record claiming a victory for Detroit in 5 games. Off camera he also went on to express how the city has caught a bad rap in the media and how this means a lot in terms of galvanizing tourism and consumers.

On the heels of completing The Unlimited Love EP. J. Keys went over to Europe for a series of intimate performances, writing sessions, and recording sessions.
This time in Europe has been life changing!! At some point in life we all deserve to go to another country (or at least city) and live for even just a short time. Not just do touristy things but really meet people and learn about the culture and do day to day activities. In just a matter of weeks I have come to realize that I am a global citizen. I don't fear unknown territory, I embrace it. I hate to leave London I have met so many amazing people.
I find comfort knowing no matter where I go, I will attract like minded people and build a community. I take with me a renewed sense of fearlessness and a thirst to cultivate even more relationships and charter more unfamiliar ground. Go NOW... see the world even if you can't leave today begin by mapping it out...
J. Keys introduces his own brand of freestyle, with the release of the Fly Together (Keymix). In a departure from the cookie cutter exaggerated talk about the finer things in life, Keys disses bottle service, student loans, and spending above your means; all while comparing the post-college experience to a 'wack album.'
He asks "Are we really that fly, or is our head in the sky?" Borrowing from the sounds of Red Cafe and Ryan Leslie's Fly Together, bar for bar Keys spits straight fire AND truth!!
Keymix - /Kee-Mix/ Noun - a song deriving from the act in which J. Keys forcibly takes an original recording by another artist. The subject matter of this derivative recording is then modified by J. Keys to give it a different, oftentimes more interesting viewpoint on a popular topic in music.
Ex. - "This joint is hot, but it deserves a Keymix!"
Detroit-bred emcee J. Keys' "The Dead Horse" isn't pigeonholed by the poppy sounds driving Hip-Hop today. "The Dead Horse" is driven by clever rhyme schemes, fusing life's realities with humor and satire. The mixtape is a direct reflection of the experiences all Hip-Hop heads share, both good and bad. Providing authentic music, J. Keys pours raw emotion into every lyric.
