convicts (1) Just read that Gucci Mane and Young Scooter might be cell mates right now. Both are behind bars right now for separate probation violations.
Can't be too surprised, jail has become Gucci's second home and ol' boy Scooter got on the radio in New York and said he was on probation and wasn't even supposed to be outside of Atlanta.
Hearing that reminded me of that old Rap-A-Lot album that Big Mike and Mr. 3-2 recorded under the name of Convicts.

Busta Rhymes is easily one of Hip-Hop music's greatest showman and his skills were on full display yesterday (July 14th) as he headlined the 2012 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. Bussa Buss can easily rock a stage by himself but nevertheless brought out an assortment of his rap superfriends to help him tear down the stage. But the most surprising was a long overdue reunion with the Leaders of the New School.
AllHipHop comes through with an efficient recap of the show in the video below. Slick Rick gets the award for the most audacious jewelry while some of the guest performers include Buckshot, Smif-N-Wessun and Lil Fame. But the highlight was clearly Busta on stage with LONS, with things getting really turnt up when A Tribe Called Quest joins in to perform 'Scenario.'
'You're definitely going to see us again, salute,' said Busta Rhymes. Word. Also, Brooklyn Nets gears is clearly selling very, very well. Watch the footage below.

Send Blog · Share on Facebook · Bookmark on Delicious Grammy Award-winning Outkast rapper Big Boi will avoid jail time on drug charges in Florida if he passes several drug tests and performs community service, prosecutors said on Thursday. The Atlanta-based rapper, whose real name is Antwan Patton, was arrested in Miami after leaving a cruise ship in August. Authorities accused him of having drugs including ecstasy and MDMA powder, according to an arrest report. In court on Thursday, the 36-year-old rapper accepted an agreement that could lead to the two felony drug possession charges he faces being dropped. Big Boi will be required to report to court for monthly drug tests for three months, the Miami prosecutor's office said. He must complete 30 hours of community service and donate $2,000 to charities. The charges will be dropped if he remains drug-free and stays out of trouble for three months, but will be refiled if he does not meet all the conditions, according to prosecutors. Defense attorney Richard Hersch said Big Boi was eligible for the judicial monitoring program because he has a clean record and does not have a problem with substance abuse. "There's no admission of guilt that is involved with it," Hersch told Reuters. Outkast was formed by Andre Benjamin (who later became known as Andre 3000) and Patton (Big Boi) in the 1990s with a distinct brand of southern-influenced hip hop music. The pair scored several hits over the years including pop song "Hey Ya" from 2003 album, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Fresh off his weekend Grammy win, singer Bruno Mars pleaded guilty to cocaine possession on Wednesday but avoided jail in exchange for probation, community service and drug counseling. Mars, 25, who had a breakthrough year in 2010 with hits "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade", made a brief appearance in a Las Vegas courtroom where a judge sanctioned a plea deal worked out with prosecutors. Mars, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, was arrested in September in a bathroom at the Hard Rock Hotel with a bag of cocaine, according to a police report. The singer's lawyer Blair Berk entered the guilty plea on his behalf. Mars was placed on 12 months probation, given a $2,000 fine, 200 hours community service and ordered to attend drug counseling. "He is going to stay out of trouble for 12 months," Berk told the judge. If Mars does not slip up, the cocaine possession charge will be dismissed from his record in a year's time. Mars won a Grammy Award in Los Angeles on Sunday for best male pop vocal performance for his romantic ballad "Just the Way You Are." His court appearance came one day after he announced a North American tour in May with R&B singer Janelle Monae.
