J Records recording artist Fantasia has announced details regarding her very first headlining tour entitled "Back To Me." The 30-city tour will begin on November 4th in Richmond, VA and will conclude by bringing in the New Year on January 1st in St. Louis, MO (full tour schedule below). The "Back To Me" tour will also include three-time Grammy Award nominee Eric Benet and Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter/producer Kandi. Subscribers of Fantasia's newsletter can take advantage of concert tickets pre-sales one day prior to general public on sale dates. The first round of pre-sales for selected dates will begin on September 30th from 10:00am-10:00pm. Fans can signup for the newsletter at FantasiaOfficial.com for up-to-date tour information and future pre-sale opportunities.
The eight-time Grammy nominee begins this tour after the critically acclaimed release of her third studio album, Back To Me which debuted at #1 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart and #2 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Back To Me also marks Fantasia's first #1 R&B album and her highest Billboard Top 200 chart ranking. While Fantasia's first single "Bittersweet" maintained its #1 position for five weeks on the Urban Adult Radio R&B Airplay chart, her new single "I'm Doin' Me," was one of the most added singles to Urban radio last week. Along with the success of Back To Me, Fantasia's second season of her VH1 reality show "Fantasia for Real" premiered on September 19th with over 1 million viewers according to Nielsen ratings.
After beautifully performed appearances on Good Morning America, Lopez Tonight, Live! With Regis and Kelly, 106 & Park and The Wendy Williams Show, Fantasia will continue to mesmerize audiences with her supreme vocal talents and engaging live performances. "I'm so excited about this tour and having the chance to connect with my fans, the people that love me and have been supporting me through everything. This tour is going to be a real special, intimate experience for them and for me" states Fantasia.
In 2004, the High Point, North Carolina native became the season three winner of Fox's American Idol. Later that year, Fantasia released her platinum-selling debut album Free Yourself on J Records and became the first artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart to debut at #1 with her first single, "I Believe." Fantasia's second single, "Truth Is," spent 14 weeks at #1, thus making her the first singer to simultaneously have two of the top three songs on the Billboard chart. Fantasia's 2006 eponymous second album featured the #1 R&B single, "When I See U," and reached gold status.
In addition to being an eight-time Grammy-nominated singer, in 2005 Fantasia authored her first memoir, Life is Not a Fairytale and made her acting debut starring as herself in the Lifetime television movie based on the book. In 2007, Fantasia continued her acting career and received rave reviews for her portrayal of "Celie" in the Broadway play The Color Purple.

JERMAINE DUPRI, DJ DRAMA, FRANK SKI, RASHAN ALI, CHILLI, KANDI & MORE TO SUPPORT EFFORTS OF GRADY HOSPITAL
ATLANTA - Atlanta celebrities and tastemakers are joining forces with Grady Hospital to support a new grassroots fundraising campaign designed to inspire community giving and increase awareness for Atlanta's only Level I Trauma Center. Jermaine Dupri, DJ Drama, Frank Ski, Rashan Ali, Chilli (TLC), Kandi ("Real Housewives of Atlanta), Shawty Lo, Bobby V, Maria More, Cristyle (songwriter), Shanti Das (PressReset.me), Kenny Burns ("The Kenny Burns Show"), J Carter (Sol Fusion), Cory "Coco Brother" Condrey, Taiye Samuel (DTP Records) and Priscilla Renea (Capitol Records artist) will become ambassadors of "G2G" or "Give to Grady," a campaign set to launch Friday, September 10, at 12:30 p.m. EST with a mass messaging event on Twitter and Facebook. Fans will be encouraged to text "GRADY" to 50555 to donate $5 to one of Atlanta's oldest healthcare facilities. Supporters can also make their donation at http://www.gradyhealthfoundation.org. "We are extraordinarily excited that Atlanta's entertainment community will join Grady in what may be the only grassroots fund-raising campaign of this kind in the country. Public hospitals are woven into the fabric of our communities and yet rarely does the community come together in this way to support our important work. Atlanta is a special place, with special people who are genuinely concerned about each other and the city," said Lisa Borders, president of the Grady Health Foundation. The G2G campaign will run through the end of the year and include a press reception in October and a series of promotional events around the city. TV spots are currently airing on local cable stations. Grady Hospital is metro Atlanta's only Level I Trauma Center and provides state-of-the-art health care across a variety of disciplines, including trauma, neurosciences, burn and wound care, sickle cell and neo-natal intensive care. The medical facility depends on contributions from the private sector to advance the work, services and research it provides to the community. Grady hopes to raise $100,000 through the G2G campaign. The event was organized through the partnership of the non-profit Sisters of Faith Breast Cancer Foundation and the Asato Agency, Atlanta's first and only full-service styling agency.
The directive of the show is to raise funds to create a new biopsy program in 2010 to assist low income women without health insurance.
According to recent statistical data from the CDC, low income women of all backgrounds are less likely to receive an annual mammogram, which is critical for early intervention.
Breast cancer remains the most common form of cancer in women and is the second leading cause of death in U.S. women.
"This cause is extremely important, not only to me, but for our communities," explained Asato Agency CEO Tangie Black to AllHipHop.com. "After losing my own mother to breast cancer last year, I've come to realize the impact this disease has on the entire family. Women from low-income families in particular are historically the least informed and most frequently diagnosed at later stages. The Pink Ribbon Affair is a fund-raiser that will help change the lives of those women and their families. By providing mammograms and biopsies, early detection will allow them to get the treatment they need sooner."
Sisters of Faith administrator Stephanie White echoed Black's words, and gave recognition to the celebrities giving their efforts to an often underserviced medical condition in urban communities.

Fonzworth Bentle Send Blog · Share on Facebook · Bookmark on DeliciousFormer Xscape group member Kandi Burruss is currently in the midst of mourning another death, as news breaks that her fiancée was killed in a brawl outside an Atlanta strip club.
Burruss' fiancée and Real Wives of Atlanta star Ashley "AJ" Jewell was killed in front of popular strip club Body Tap last night (October 2) during what homicide detectives dubbed a "one-on-one" fight.
Representatives for Burruss told AllHipHop.com that the Grammy-Award winning singer/songwriter is "devastated," because she is also mourning the loss of her uncle, Ralph Leslie.
Sadly, Burruss is attending Leslie's funeral today. She offered no statement on Jewell's death.
Meanwhile, police have arrested a man named Fredrick Richardson and charged him with voluntary manslaughter in relation to Jewell's death.
According to reports, Richardson is in the hospital recovering from injuries sustained in the fight, but will be jailed upon his release. Send Blog · Share on Facebook · Bookmark on Delicious
