Last night a crazed fan of J. Cole tweeted a photo of himself holding a gun to his sister, threatening to pull the trigger if the rapper did not re-tweet him.

Tell the people who you are and the meaning behind your name? My name is Mike Mckenzie. The whole point of my name is to have no boundaries in my career. I used to go by the nick name "Mooga" that was given to me by some friends in High school but I sat down one day and analyzed what exactly I was trying to do with my music career. I change it to Mike Mckenzie to be more marketable. Also there were people online with the same name fighting wit me for it so I figured instead of fighting for a name I should just be myself. I can take any lane and be whatever rapper I want to be with my original name. I didnt want the name I chose to dictate my career path.
How long have you been rapping at what age? Don't really know when I started rapping but I started taking it seriously when I was about 18-19 years old.
Everyone has a success story what's yours? Music has always been in my life but it wasn't my first love. Though I used to rap during high school it came second to my hoop dreams. I hit a point in my college career where I got injured and had to stop playing basketball on a collegiate level. When I hit a low point of depression one of my friends from high school who go by the rap name Moomdaddy came to me trying to get me to take rap seriously because I was naturally good at it. I always had a talent for writing but this was a way for me to vent about my life & gave me a new drive towards something. With new goals & a new drive my main mission is to be remembered past my time on this earth but when everything is settled I owe any success I get to Moomdaddy.
Tell us about your mixtape? My mixtape is titled "Standy By". It has production from a couple of Boston's best like Gilly C of RLS, Evilldewer, JRob, & Moconn. Its bascially a collection of songs some old, some new that has never been released. Also have a couple of collaborations like Real P from the Boston rap group Famous Nobodies. You may know Dutch Rebelle who was on MTV's Rapfix at one point.
What's next from you? Next Thing On the list is to bang out more videos off my "Stand By" mixtape while I'm pushing the first single "Imma Star". The video is available at www.youtube.com/ReelLyfeSociety
Please inform us on your next project? Next I am going to release one more mixtape before I drop my first album "Boarding Pass" (which is produced by Russian producers, Lego Beatz & Dj Ape Cruso). It Should be dropped sometime this year with all 80's/early 90's beats. This cd will include all the members of Reel Lyfe Society(Mike Mckenzie, Moomdaddy, G.P.A., Gen Gutz, & Gilly C). The mixtape name isn't decided as of yet.
Everyone has up's and down's in the industry could you tell us your life struggles? I have a problem with feeling stationary. I like to see direct results from my actions and that doesn't happen most of the time in this industry. Most of my struggles has been mental. It is hard sometimes to keep yourself motivated when you are not seeing anything being compensated from your actions. Being an unsigned artist my money is obviously limited and I give everything to this music. Once the pressure of life start setting in you have to make a choice to either continue with music or just stop. Luckily I'm strong willed enough to keep it pushing.
Do you belong to any foundation or charity? Not at this time, but wish to have my own someday.
What where you doing before you became This success rapper? I was a college basketball player/School boy. I also shot & edited videos on my off time.

Tell the people who you are and the meaning behind your name?
Decatur Redd. My older brother used to call me Redd. The people in the street call me Gangster Redd because I used to play with guns a lot and when I got out of prison I dropped the gangster part of my name and added Decatur because I've stayed in every part of Decatur. Ever since then I've been known as Decatur Redd
How long have you been rapping at what age?
When I first started rapping I was 17. I've been out here in this game for 7 years now. Hip Hop always been my passion.
Everyone has a success story what's yours?
When I first jumped into the rap game a year later I got signed to Upfront Entertainment, the same label that Akon is signed to. I was in a group called FA, the same group future was in. Of course people never heard about it because they never put any records out .So shortly after that , my brother Ku Dolla and I decided to do it on our own; with very few resources and my dope boy money we got into the studio and started pressing up CDs. After that we started hitting all of the clubs in Atl and I got on every stage that could and before you know it I became well known through out the city as one of Atlanta's well respected, hard working, independent artist in the game.

Everyone has up's and down's in the industry could you tell us your life struggles?
I don't do a lot of worrying and complaining because I pray a lot but, the biggest thing I'm coping with is the death of my mom , that day and how it happened. I still haven't been able to get over it. Plus trying to live in this society after doing a 10 year bid haven't been easy at all for me. Do you belong to any foundation or charity? No , I give my own charity every chance I get. I feel like charity's and foundation use the money for their own personal use. We can never know where that bread is going,so I do it myself, atleast I see it reach the people.
What were you doing before you became This successful rapper?
I was in the streets hard and going in and out of the studio every chance I got. I always wanted to rap and I knew first I had to get in the studio and record. So I had to sacrifice time to do it.
