First of all. Robin Williams R.I.P. Now... Mike Tyson and Robin bought drugs from the same dealer? What the f#ck??!!
"This is very interesting. When I met [Robin Williams] and he said, 'I was waiting for you...' He started telling me about somebody I was purchasing from. I said to myself, 'How does he know this lowlife dealer I know? They shouldn't be in the same state...' You go to every measure to get high. Everybody knows everybody."
- Mike Tyson
Everybody knows everybody... and their pusher. Wowwwww. Stream to listen above.
It's been said that if sugar was submitted for approval by the U.S. Food & Drug Association today... it would be turned down as a drug with the quickness! Think about it. From fields of cane to white powder, bagged up and sold, giving so many kids a 'sugar high' - especially tonight. Okay, okay... we're not trying to put the kibosh on Halloween... but take a look at John Oliver's segment on America's daily sugar overdose on HBO's 'Last Week Tonight' think about how much sweet stuff you ingest (and how corporations plot to ensure you keep doing so).
America... we have a problem. Maybe? Well... Let's talk about it over a cup of coffee. How do you take yours? Dark-brewed, heavy cream and... awww, dammit!
Pibots have been designed to fly every kind of plane that a human was meant to fly, and they have been tested for most every simulation and situation... except actual cockpit flight in a full-sized aircraft. But South Korean researchers say that is coming soon (in the video report above).
Researchers in South Korea are developing a robotic pilot that could potentially replace humans in the cockpit. Unlike drones and autopilot programs which are configured for specific aircraft, the robots' humanoid design will allow it to fly any type of plane with no additional sensors.
Just saying. Why does that first Pibot look like a skeleton after the crash? And "because it's Halloween" is NOT an acceptable answer!
Yesterday, Chuuwee dropped one of the best videos/songs of 2014 with his record Friends, off his most recent project The Chuuwee Channel. Check out the beautiful visuals by Daniel Phoenix W/ Vinyl Villians & Wood Works Media. Good job guys. Check out the video below.
OMG! This was me in secondary school. Can't help but laugh a bit. But this Samuel King... some serious business with the message he's delivering in this dramatic spoken word piece delivered in a classroom setting.
A Spoken word short film for those frustrated at Black History teaching in schools. Disillusioned student Samuel King relays his grievances to his teacher that Black History Month isn't taught with as much depth and with as much pride in schools. Samuel engages in a short rebuttal with his teacher, before arguing that education in school does little to satisfy his thirst for knowledge of influential people in Black history who seem to be elusive in the curriculum.
"There seems to be a lot you haven't told us, and you shut down and hold back on the bold ones who stand against the way you're trying to mold us."
Most who know know... at the heart of the engine of the legendary Def Jam Recordings was co-founder Rick Rubin. Take a trip with this clip. Back to before 'those' days. Right right at the beginning where it all began, in Rubin's dorm room. Yeah, of course, Russell Simmons is in there speaking on it with some 'others' around back then, too.
Def Jam was started 30 years ago in Rick Rubin's NYU dorm room. Watch him go back to the place where it all began for the very first time.
Hip-Hop and martial arts - there's a connection. Some real talk where the real work begins again (Manilla, Philippines). Then Jeff the crew is off and running again to Singapore, after getting some KFC. Then Tokyo, Japan. Good times on the rip-and-run-and-fun tour underway. Oh... and there's barbecue... Korean barbeque!
Visuals for Choosey's title track from his FREE "Left Field" mixtape (out now, linked below). Infrared film effects just make the whole thing more ominous, huh? And listen up to the lyrics (yep, dude said he used Bible pages as rolling papers).
"I'm next to a 10, two 10s in the back yo... send 'em back home with they pride and they back broke..."
Lyrics from the Left Side of the map. Known as the Left Field. Choosey!
Movie year 2015 is shaping up to be a good one. Now that Michael "Chalky" Williams is freed up (yes, go back and watch the finale season of 'Boardwalk Empire' wowww)... he can headline this movie with Mark Wahlberg and a worthy assist from John Goodman (whose character laid out that wisdom above to Wahlberg's character).
Jim Bennett (Academy Award®-nominee Mark Wahlberg) is a risk taker. Both an English professor and a high-stakes gambler, Bennett bets it all when he borrows from a gangster (Michael Kenneth Williams) and offers his own life as collateral. Always one step ahead, Bennett pits his creditor against the operator of a gambling ring (Alvin Ing) and leaves his dysfunctional relationship with his wealthy mother (Academy Award®-winner Jessica Lange) in his wake. He plays both sides, immersing himself in an illicit, underground world while garnering the attention of Frank (John Goodman), a loan shark with a paternal interest in Bennett's future. As his relationship with a student (Brie Larson) deepens, Bennett must take the ultimate risk for a second chance...
Super dope video we have been waiting for! The MC Lyte jawn "Dear John" (featuring Common and 10Beats) has been some good spinning over here. Check out the visual interpretation above (and the link to the single post, in case you missed that). Dope message music. Enjoy!
This post is funny AND touching. Gather 'round kids and get your funny first... Uncle LeVar aka young Kunta Kinte ('Roots') aka Lt. Commander Geordi Laforge (Star Trek: The Next Generation) is going to read one more nighty-night story. Just ONE more, and y'all are really pushing it.
For reaching our stretch goal, LeVar Burton sits the Rooster Teeth employees down for a reading of the popular "bedtime story." This was done as part of Rooster Teeth's 24-hour live-stream for Extra Life. Consider making a donation to the Children's Miracle Network Hospital of your choice. Visit http://www.extra-life.org/ to find out what you can do to help.
Well, done Commander. Well f-king done! Info on the very worthy cause for which Mr. Burton willingly stepped far outside his public persona to read, Extra Life, is included after the jump.
