R&B singer Mario was arrested this morning for assaulting his mom, a former heroin addict. According to TMZ:
"According to police, Mario's mother Shawntia Hardaway — a former heroin addict — told cops Mario had been "throwing and damaging property" … and pushed her around with his hands and forearms.
Cops say they found several broken items inside the apartment — including a broken china cabinet, a busted mirror and a hole in the closet door.
Mario's mother also told police the 24-year-old singer had attacked her earlier in the week — in which he pushed her "eight feet into a living room wall, where Ms. Hardaway hit her head on the wall."
Mario — real name Mario Dewar Bennett — was eventually arrested this morning for 2nd degree assault. He was released on $50,000 bond."

Singer Sean Kingston has been accused of sexual assault, but sources say cops don't believe his accuser.
The alleged incident occurred Sunday night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Seattle. Sources tell said that two women showed up for a party in one of the hotel rooms. Kingston was present.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the women were both intoxicated when they arrived, with bottles of vodka and beer in hand. They're told one of the women claims Kingston had sex with her, and, as one source says, "She was very aggressive." Kingston then left the party and went to another room on the same floor.
Sources say the woman then proceeded to have sex with two other men in the room.
The second woman, we're told, also had sex with someone in the room.
A hotel manager tells TMZ "an incident" did indeed occur in the hotel Sunday night, though he was not specific. The fire department tells us an ambulance was called and transported both women, ages 19 and 20, to a hospital where rape tests were conducted. We're told the women were also tested for Rufinol, but the results are not in.
Sources say Kingston, who is scheduled to perform tonight with Justin Bieber in Portland, was initially asked by cops to come in for an interview, but police have determined the case is not credible and they now say an interview is unnecessary.
We're told one of the women is going to file a civil lawsuit, and maybe both. Send Blog · Share on Facebook · Bookmark on Delicious Wow! If this won't deter you from going to prison, what will??? Brown had been a spokesman for Doublemint Gum, and his hit song "Forever" was part of Wrigley's advertising campaign.
Following Brown's February arrest on suspicion of attacking Rihanna in Los Angeles on the eve of the Grammy Awards, Wrigley said it was "concerned" by the allegations against him.

Hilton said he got into an argument with band members Fergie and will.i.am at the Cobra nightclub early Monday morning and was punched outside by Polo Molina, the band's tour manager. They were at the club following a Sunday night video awards show.
Molina turned himself in and has been charged with assaulting Hilton, Toronto Police Constable Tony Vella said. Molina is due in court Aug. 5.
Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, complained about the incident on the microblogging site Twitter. He tweeted at 4 a.m.: "I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke."
Hilton, who is openly gay, said in interview with The Associated Press that he called will.i.am a "faggot," a gay slur, inside the club after the musician told the blogger not to write about his band on his Web site.
"He was like 'You need to respect me.' He was in my face. He was obviously trying to intimidate me and scare me," Hilton said. "I was like 'I don't need to respect you. I don't respect you and I did say this, and I knew that it would be the worst thing I could possibly say to him because he was acting the way he was. I said 'You know what, I don't respect you and you're gay and stop being such a faggot.'"
Hilton, who was at the club with Lady Gaga, said he then left the club and was punched from behind. The pop stars and the blogger were among celebrities in Toronto for the MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday night. Send Blog · Share on Facebook · Bookmark on Delicious Earlier this month, Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from his February altercation with Rihanna on the eve of the Grammys. Brown is now due back in court on Wednesday (April 29) to make his first appearance since entering his plea. So what can the singer expect as he once again enters Judge Patricia Schnegg's chambers?
Well, it depends on a number of factors â€" both sides in the case were reportedly working furiously to negotiate a plea deal, and a few of those factors favored a deal being struck, legal experts have said.
For example, Chris Brown is a first-time offender with no criminal history. Rihanna, it appears, doesn't have much interest in testifying in the case â€" her lawyer recently said that his client would like to reach a resolution as soon as possible. And both stars could do without additional damaging information about the night in question being made public.
On Wednesday, Brown will appear in Los Angeles County Criminal Court for a status conference and there's a remote chance his attorney, Mark Geragos, will announce that a plea deal has finally been reached.
Peter T. Haven, a legal expert based in California, explained that most likely Geragos will ask for additional discovery time. Earlier this month, Brown's legal team made a similar request, which in turn allowed them to see what evidence the prosecution held â€" a court formality. This time, the Brown camp will have to update the judge on their findings and may request more time to seek further evidence on their own.

Alex Da Silva, 41, a well-known salsa dancer who teaches at several Los Angeles dance studios, was taken into custody after teaching a class at a Hollywood studio and booked for investigation of sexual assault, Det. John Eum said.
Da Silva, who was being held on $3.8 million bail, is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday.
It wasn't immediately known whether the Brazilian-born Da Silva has retained an attorney. The voicemail for a phone number posted on his Web site was full and wouldn't accept messages.
Da Silva had been accused in 2003, 2004 and 2005 of sexually assaulting three women, but for unknown reasons prosecutors declined to file charges, Eum said.
Then on March 28, a fourth woman accused Da Silva of luring her to his home, using a ruse to get her into his bedroom and raping her. Detectives went back to interview the previous accusers, found similar accusations of being lured to Da Silva's bedroom and sexually assaulted by him, and reopened their cases.

Brown, who has kept a relatively low profile since his February 8 arrest, is also expected to enter a plea at today's arraignment, which is a formal reading of the criminal complaint against the singer.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office reached prior to the appearance said that the court did not know if Brown's attorneys would enter a plea on Monday or ask for another extension.
