After performing and catching the eyes of major music scouts at a recent LA showcase, Kanbeei was invited to attend an exclusive music party in LA. Kanbeei met up with rappers, "E-40", "Dorrough" , mega producer "Hit-Boy", high ranking Sony Music representatives and more.
Kanbeei was presented a challenge by one of the music scouts to remix a club instrumental by the name of "Higher" produced by "Just Blaze" and "Baauer". His challenge was to make the track less lyrical but more "mainstream". kanbeei did just that and has submitted his remix for review. If the scout is impressed with his remix and believes that Kanbeei can adapt to the mainstream genre, big things can happen.
kanbeei told us, "The music industry is so difficult to even make a little noise. I feel really blessed and honored to have someone challenge me with an instrumental. I feel like this could be really big for me. If he (A&R Rep) likes what I did, Im sure he will put me in contact with other big players...I just gotta make this happen. Period."

In this "Behind The Beats" Interview, Just Some Guy Named Jay talks to Olatunji Mason, Olatunji Mason is a songwriter, producer, beatmaker that is most known for using international sounds and world music and blending them with golden age boom bap sounds. This past weekend Kanbeei Karlson performed in Los Angeles, Ca and introduced his new song "Peter Pan", produced by "Jmyth" and engineered by "Anthony Arasi" at the famous outlet, "The Joint". JS Global Entertainment hosting an Indie music competition, where artist perform in front of the 3 largest radio stations in LA for a chance at getting airplay. Plus, Kanbeei was given the opportunity to showcase in front of major players in the music industry.
Kanbeei had a strong performance, starting with new hit "Peter Pan". Moving into, "Wild Boy" remix (Verse1), "Counterfeit Hearts" and "Assa-Hater".
Kanbeei connected with major music scouts and other artist after the show. He says, "I think it was a great set. This time I wanted to keep the energy at one level, that hype level. I think it might have paid off."
Tonight, Kanbeei Karlson will get another shot at national exposure. Kanbeei will perform at "The Joint" where JS Global Entertainment is hosting a live music showcase. Power house, LA urban radio stations such as "Power 106", "102.3 KJLH" and "93.5 KDAY" will be in attendance. The radio stations are in search of new talent and new songs to showcase on their radio stations.
