Charles Barkley says Tiger Woods changed his cell phone number the day after his car accident and is not talking to some of his famous friends.
On a show that airs Sunday on news network HLN, Barkley and filmmaker Spike Lee worry that Woods isn't taking advantage of the invaluable advice that can only be offered by friends who are used to the spotlight.
"You should reach out to your celebrity friends when things go bad," Barkley told The Associated Press in a phone interview Tuesday. "They're the only people who understand what it's like."
Barkley appears on "With All Due Respect" with two other Turner Sports analysts, baseball Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley and longtime NASCAR driver Kyle Petty. Lee is one of the guests in the one-hour special during which the sports stars discuss a variety of topics.
Turner Sports and HLN are owned by Turner Broadcasting System.
"He's insulated," Lee said during the taping for the show. "If Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan can't get to him, and those are his boys, then other people are making bad moves."
Barkley said Tuesday he has not spoken to Woods since the Nov. 27 accident, which unleashed a series of events that resulted in him admitting to marital infidelity.
"I've been trying to get to him and can't get to him," he said. "It's very frustrating."
Barkley said he just wants to tell Woods, "Hey, man, we love you. If you need anything, pick up the phone."
Chatting about subjects ranging from sports to world news, entertainment and current events is a natural for the outspoken Barkley, who has long expressed an interest in entering politics. He said he wants potential voters to be familiar with his views, with include support for abortion rights and gay marriage.

The network has decided not to order any additional episodes of its new big-budget action medical series "Trauma," which featured Derek Luke in the role of a paramedic.
Ratings for the drama have stalled since its season premiere, but it showed a small ratings uptick this week against CBS repeats, prompting the network to book the series for three more weeks.
"Trauma" will now finish production on its original 13-episode order before unplugging the machine, so to speak.

The taping is scheduled to air on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 9 p.m. ET.
E! News quoted an unnamed source who claimed the interview was a "no-holds-barred chat during which Brown answered every question put to him."
Discussion likely included the 20-year-old's probation report, which was released this week and offered an account of the beating in disturbing detail. The report also indicated that he had been violent with Rihanna on at least two occasions before the Feb. 8 attack that resulted in his assault charges.
Brown was said to have appeared on "Larry King Live" with his attorney Mark Geragos and mother Joyce Hawkins, who reportedly “got very emotional and started to cry during the interview.”

The singer, who is pregnant with their first child and due this month, says she doesn't have two nickels to rub together because Nas has cut her off financially. She is asking the judge to order Nas to pay spousal support, child support, all pregnancy-related expenses and one-half of all medical expenses after the child is born.
She also seeks $3,500 for the baby nurse after the child's birth, and $20,000 for strollers, cribs and other baby supplies.
"My survival is based on his will at this time," said Kelis. "If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid."
Kelis says she's entitled to maintain the lifestyle to which she became accustomed during their six-year marriage -- they have five homes, fly first class, go to fancy restaurants, and on and on.

Turns out Goldberg only had a bad cold, but she told the audience Thursday that she wasn't taking any chances by assuming she didn't have "the piggy flu," as she calls it.
Walters admitted being less than truthful to the audience on Tuesday and Wednesday when she announced that Whoopi was simply "taking the day off." Her reason? She feared causing unnecessary panic if people knew that her co-host may have the swine flu.

The hour long show, which doesn't have a title yet, will air Monday through Thursday at 11 p.m.
TBS is moving to establish a new talk show at a time of change in the genre. Jay Leno is moving to prime-time at NBC, Conan O'Brien takes over the "Tonight" show in June and Jimmy Fallon recently started in O'Brien's "Late Night" time slot.
"I'm a pretty visible Mexican-American guy who has managed to cross over," said Lopez, who had a six-year run with his own ABC sitcom. "I'm not a singer. I'm not Antonio Banderas. I'm a guy who came up the hard way on the street, and I speak to people who have the same life story."
Late-night television, and TV entertainment in general, "is a place where everything is geared toward Caucasians," Lopez said.

The First Hoops Fan indulged in one of the week's most popular pastimes, filling out his NCAA bracket Tuesday for ESPN. The network, which is posting Obama's bracket online Wednesday and showing Andy Katz's report on "Sportscenter" at noon EDT, will reveal the president's pick for NCAA champion then.
The president stuck primarily with No. 1 seeds. The sole exception was Memphis, seeded No. 2 behind Connecticut in the West regional.
"It was an educated bracket," Katz said. "He knew what he was doing. It wasn't some random kind of pick. There were no political favors or anything like that."
