Sequin Brand Wine is An Urban Hit! There is NO Secret that the varietal Moscato has been ultimately popular in America. The Urban Market has been in love with Moscato for a while. Moscato is sweet, delightful and agreeable to most people's palate! One of the best Moscato's that I have tasted are from the Sequin Brand Wine.
Moscato is traditionally a very sweet white wine. Pinot Grigio is traditionally a slightly dry wine. Check out how Sequin Brand Wine turned traditions on its ear and added a little bubbly to sexy up the situation. Those of us in Urban Markets are loving this delicious brand of sparkling wine!

The Sequin Brand Moscato is one of the tastiest and smooth that I have experienced! Its sweet with just the right amount of apple-ness(I just made that up) to make you smile when you drink it! I totally suggest this wine if you like Moscato's, because its NOT your typical Moscato!!...its a bit more beautiful. It has a few dimensions of taste and changes as it m moves across your tongue.
The Sequin Brand Pinot Grigio is positively killer! It actually reminds me of a party in my mouth! The Pinot is sweet and fun makes me feel happy! It would be a great bottle to drink at a picnic or even at a birthday party hosted at a club in an ice bucket. This sparkling wine is all types of fun and while I DIG the Moscato, Sequin Brand Wine gets a 10 for this bubbly Pinot Grigio!

Macy's hosted an American Icon celebration throughout their stores nationwide.
It was a beautiful sea of Red, White and Blue celebrating American Legends. ClassyBlackGirl.com attended the celebration in the San Francisco Union Square Macy's and our team had a blast, but the most fun for us to be had was in the posh Demo Kitchen!
The American Icon Celebration started at 5:30 pm on the Lower Level of Macy's in the kitchen studio! Kitchen Aid Culinary Expert, Deb Slater, showed us how to use the multi-purpose Artisan Stand Mixer!
We watched as Deb created 3 delicious recipes: The Red White and Blue Pasta Salad, The Red White and Blue Cole Slaw and The Red White and Blue Vanilla Wafer Cheesecake Tartlets! They were quick creations and so positively tasty! I had never thought about how much of an American Icon our food is, but it truly is! Everything that we do as Americans that is of any substance is always surrounded by our good food-stemming from all of the cultures that create our American Cultural Soup!
Macy's and Kitchen Aid are also currently raffling off a beautiful stand mixer decorated with a beautifully painted American Flag, designed by world class artist, Dean Loucks. This was totally gorgeous and I certainly hope to win!! Every Classy Black Girl wants one of these high end mixers in one of those FAB Colors on their countertops!
We ascended up to the 3rd floor and were greeted by a DIY Nail Salon, a Candy Bar and Delicious Drinks!!
Then we sat front row center to check out the Fab Fashion Showcase of three of American Icons in the fashion industry. The fashion show gave us fresh looks on how to do summertime fashionably!!

I had been seeing NatureBox on my Facebook for the longest time.
NatureBox seemed like a really neat program, I love subscription programs-period. I like getting new products in sample sizes to try and check out before I buy them in full sizes. I finally decided to break it down and order my own NatureBox. I was pleasantly surprised with my findings!

7. My Mom loved them and kept begging me for any of the bags! I try and get her healthy all of the time, but she doesn't like a lot of the Whole Foods type of products that I typically indulge in.
8. They were so darn Fresh! Packaged Food is almost never this fresh! It tasted like it had just been made! Granola gets stale soon. This granola didn't last long(I will admit I had to fight everybody off just to get the blog post done!), but it tasted like I had just mixed it myself!
9. They are easy to grab! Meaning, I wont grab a candy bar and I still satisfy my need to snack without going bad on my body!
10. They are just so damn yummy! I know that's a SIMPLE reason, but the reason that I eat most food is because it tastes good. And NatureBox fits the bill!

I occasionally watch The Braxton's (Braxton Family Values) when I preparing for my Thursday night Scandal Fest! And this weeks episode caught my eye because it was surrounded by two of my guilty pleasures, Good Southern Food and Tamar Braxton drama. But I was like #ClutchThePearls, The Braxton's were doing Chitlin's!!
Tamar announced her love on top to her sisters and they were all cooking their favorite dishes. Ohh!!!...There is almost nothing that I love better than good food. But the smell of Chitterlings(the proper spelling of the dish)...I just can't do it!

In the Braxton household Chitlin's were a family tradition and reminded the 5 beautiful women of their childhood. So some of you may not know what Chitlin's are, let me share the history of Chittlin's and why they are significant in the cooking lives of American Black people.
Are Chitlin's Classy or Sassy? Most American Black people, but not all, came to America as slaves. During slavery, hogs were slaughtered in December, and hog maws or ears, pigs feet, and neck bones were given to the slaves, pig intestines were part of the extras that the slave owners did not want to consume.
As Black people do, we turned lemons into Lemonade. During slavery we turned pig guts into Chitlin's! Now Chitlin's are a delicacy and as much a part of Soul Food as greens or Sweet Potato Pie. Chitlin's are as Black as you can get and like all things in Black Culture some people like Chitlins and some of us don't, just like some of the Braxton's girls wanted Chitlin's and a few were like "Lord NO!"
Chitlin's dont have the best smell, okay they smell like feces, because thats what they house! So Chitterlings have to be cleaned carefully and "the membrane" has to be removed. Okay I cook, but I dont know anything about that!
Chitlins are a staple in our culture, weather you eat them or not. And our Culture is most definitely Classy.
Whats the Chitlin Circuit?
The informal circuit of juke joints and clubs patronized by African-Americans(and those who loved our music and plays) has long been called the "Chitlin Circuit." The Chitlin' Circuit was a string of music venues in the South that sold chitlins' and other soul food dishes. In the late 50′s and early 60′s these tours were crucial to Black artists. Because there was no media coverage for these artists, the Chitlin' Circuit was the only way to perform for their fans.
While I do not personally eat Chitlin's, it was very nice to watch these Upper Middle Class Beautiful and Fit Sistas embrace our Soul Food Culture and bring it to mainstream television!

There are times when you do not need a pricey Malbec or a fabulous Cabernet. Your eating pizza and you just want a sweet red wine to make you smile. This means that you probably only want to spend a few bucks on a bottle of wine. And you do not need this red wine to be from a pricey vineyard. Personally, I choose to drink my wine by type and events. For a weeknight while I am reading or Sunday with Pizza, especially if I am alone and writing, I go cheap. The only person that I have to impress is ME.
This weeks "sweet red wine reviews" discusses a simple Zinfandel varietal by wine makers Sutter Home. I know, I know. Sutter Home is not known for their pricey wine. But pricey does not always mean good! I usually spend between $8-$15 on a bottle of wine a few times a week. But that can add up!
Let me tell you about this wine, it's taste, the price and where you can get a bottle.
The Sutter Home Zinfandel is a simple wine. When I started on red wines, I started on sweet reds. The varietal(which Simply means particular grape that is used to make the wine), Zinfandel, is one of my favorite. It's an easy transition to stronger tasting sweet red wines such as a Cabernet or my fave the biting Malbec.
This wine is tasty, perfect with a very meaty or veggie pizza. It's heavy and inspires lots of smiles.
It's strong and full bodied, but very easy to consume. Here is the quick and dirty from this weeks Sweet Red Wine Reviews.

I would suggest this bottle for a very casual meal like pizza and it's great to take to a party barring you will not encounter any wine snobs! This sweet red wine reviewed is not your expensive wine, but it's a great way to enjoy a nice cheap bottle of sweet red wine.

Eddie Huang's interesting food & travel based program "Fresh Off The Boat With Eddie Huang" has had a very good first season with VICE. In this final season episode of the show Eddie takes his talents BEYOND the glitzy lights of South Beach & ventures into the neighborhoods for the best restaurants & food tourists overlook when visiting Miami. True to the mission of his show Eddie stays off the beaten path by spending time with the porn industry's "World Famous" Bang Bros team & adult film star Jada Stevens, enjoys some time with the unofficial Mayor of Miami Uncle Luke, hits Little Haiti to enjoy some authentic Haitian cuisine, & enjoys a Miami Dolphins tailgate. The timing couldn't have been more perfect for Eddie & his producers at VICE to release this Miami edition of the show while the city has been enjoying the success of another Miami Heat NBA Championship run & wins being posted by the nationally ranked University of Miami Hurricanes basketball team. An Upper West Side Whole Foods has removed a sign that used a drawing of President Barack Obama to advertise a sale on chicken after complaints that the ad was offensive.
The sign outside the supermarket on Columbus Avenue and 97th Street featuring an apparent caricature of Obama advertising an upcoming sale on whole organic chicken outraged neighbor Woody Henderson.
"There are certain things that have been used to put down black people - watermelon, fried chicken," he said.
Jason Nunez of the Bronx said, "Even if he's not the president, you're going to have an African American promoting the sale of chicken? They can do better than that."
Residents and passersby agreed the man in the sign looks like Obama but not all thought it was derogatory. What do you think?
