"Karma's Not Pretty.") For LA Teen Pop artist Temara Melek, today marks the beginning of an exciting journey. "Karma's Not Pretty" is the debut single from her upcoming EP, Karma. The cut will receive an international release via Dani Stephenson's Straight Forward Music/Records and is available for Pre-Order on 9th July, 2013. "Karma's Not Pretty" was co-written by Temara and "The Voice" 2012 winner Cassadee Pope. It was produced by the award-winning production team of Jonathan George, Stacy Jones and Mike Schmidt who played an influential part in the rise of Miley Cyrus's career. In April Temara recorded most of the Karma EP in London, cutting tracks with accredited producer/songwriters like Dani 100, Don Diablo, Capital FM's Andi Durrant and Grammy nominated Jonas Westling for his Work on Lady Gaga's "The Fame Monster" Album. "In 'Karma's Not Pretty' I am singing about a UK celebrity whose relationship didn't end up with a happy-ever-after. I am basically warning him 'what goes around comes around' in a fun way though... We're still great friends. I love this song!" says the Colorado-born, L.A.-based Temara. "I can't wait to shoot the video at the end of the month, I plan to have a celebrity cameo but I'll keep that a secret for now, lol".
On the heels of the release of debut single, Temara will kick off her UK Nationwide "KARMA Tour" She will be headlining O2 Academy & SJM Concert Tour kicking off in September, 2013. Although Temara has achieved a substantial amount of success at such a young age, she hasn't lost sight of the importance of giving back. In 2009, Temara started her own charity called "Little Wishes and Big Dreams". She is actively involved with UNICEF, Realities for children, ASPCA, Greenpeace, Christian Children's Fund, American Cancer Society, and the LA Mission. She has recently become engaged with the charity "Dare to Care" which is fighting to end childhood hunger and she has to date donated over $85,000 to that charity and cause.
Temara is on her way to stardom. Through years of development in acting, dance, singing and modeling, Temara has emerged as a teen superstar in the making. Her Popularity, Charisma and Amazing Talent has led her to be featured in the BYOU magazine as one of the hot Hollywood 9 Teens to keep your eye on this year. In 2011 she was nominated for the HMMA Award, "Best Pop Song". Additionally, she was nominated for "Album Of The Year" by the LA Music Awards, where she has been tapped to be the next "LA Teen Phenomenon" to WOW the world.
