Don't confuse Missy Elliott with Queen Latifah, but like the 1990's rap trailblazer, Misdemeanor is all about U-N-I-T-Y - especially when it comes to rap's female set.

When Missy Elliott sat down with MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway on Wednesday's "RapFix Live," she weighed in on the feud between her friend Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj. "That situation I felt like divided us," Missy said after a long pause. "I've never met Nicki, she's out there hustling, can't be mad at that. Lil' Kim is my sister, known her for years and I'll never turn my back on her, but there is enough room for everybody. I want to see everybody get it."

Missy was careful not to add fuel to the fire, which has died down over the past year, but really wishes that all female rappers could find a way to rock together. "I love to see women just have on their own and you watch the guys do it all the time," she said. "They go out on the road with each other - probably don't even like each other, but they going to get that money."

Elliott even dreamed up an all-woman tour scenario. She is so excited about the idea, the...click to continue reading

NEW YORK - Ludacris poked fun at Tiger Woods' sex scandal on the intro to his new track "Sexting" from his forthcoming Battle of the Sexes album (due March 9), intimidating the embattled golf star's frantic voice mail to one of his alleged mistresses.

But the Atlanta rapper said there are no hard feelings behind the jab.

"If I'm making fun of Tiger Woods, I'm also making fun of myself," Luda told MTV News from Madison Square Garden before he took the stage Wednesday (February 24).

MTV Shows
On the Neptunes-produced song, "Sexting," Luda raps about his own tale of sex addiction. "My girl went through my cell phone," he spits, explaining how he got caught. Throughout the track, the Luda-as-Tiger voice mail plays. Luda said the track is only a reflection of reality.

"This is what happens," he explained of the inspiration behind the song. "So I'm just bringing to light what's really going on in the world."

So, does Luda have a take on Tiger's message to his mistress?

"It's very entertaining," he laughed. "And I do feel as though he may have handled it wrong."

Ludacris, however, said he'd offer Tiger some advice - especially if the golf legend feels slighted by song.

"I would say, 'Let's go play some golf and talk about it,' " he...More LUDACRIS/TIGER WOODS

PATRICK SWAYZE Dies At 57

Patrick Swayze, who soared to stardom as a heartthrob dancer in "Dirty Dancing" and ascended to romantic icon status as a deceased lover in "Ghost," died Monday. He was 57.

"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were given.

It was first reported in March 2008 that the actor was being treated for inoperable stage-four pancreatic cancer. In an ABC interview in January, Swayze said it "seemed likely" he would live for two more years.

A trained dancer and gymnast, the athletic Swayze was a swooner as a romantic lead in those two early '80s sleeper hits. He garnered his first of three Golden Globe nominations for his electrifying "Dirty Dancing" performance.

The 1987 movie showcased Swayze's dual abilities as a dancer and actor. He also composed and performed a song for the movie, "She's Like the Wind," which became a hit. And his line, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner," which he directed at Jennifer Grey character's father, played by Jerry Orbach, became a popular movie one-liner.

Swayze turned down an offer of $6 million to appear in a sequel, but 17 years popped up in a cameo role in "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights."

Swayze followed "Dirty Dancing" with two projects that capitalized on his sex appeal and athleticism: "Road House" and "Next of Kin," both released in 1989.

He soared further as a romantic lead the following year with Jerry Zucker's "Ghost." His robust and delicate performance as a dead man who didn't tell his girlfriend that he loved her while he was alive captivated audiences. Swayze and Demi Moore teamed for one of most erotic scenes in mainstream movies when they sculpted clay to the Righteous Brothers' meltingly romantic love song "Unchained Melody."

Swayze won his second Globe nomination for "Ghost" and became a poster boy, earning People's "Sexiest Man Alive" cover in 1991.

That same year, Swayze parlayed his buff stuff into a role as a bank robber/surfer guru in...More PATRICK SWAYZE

Normally, Drake makes headlines with his music, which has led him to become one of the most buzzed-about MCs in recent years.

But this week the Toronto rapper's unexpectedly candid comments about Universal Motown head Sylvia Rhone have further stirred blog fodder that began with his dismissive line about the executive on a track titled "Say What's Real," from his breakthrough mixtape So Far Gone.

In an interview with MTV News this week, Drake apologized to Rhone, saying his comments â€" both in the song and in a recent interview â€" were "emotionally charged" and "very brazen."

"I can definitely say for me, for furthering the negativity, I can definitely say I apologize," Drake told MTV News. "I don't know her personally to discredit her character. It's not the right thing to do."

The tension seemed to reach a high point between the parties this past week.

First, when Drake's comments in the upcoming issue of...More on Drake and his comments

T.I.'s 2007 arrest for attempting to buy illegal firearms led many observers to believe the rapper's career was finished and he'd be spending a long stretch in prison. The rapper had previously done jail stints for drug-related offenses.

So how did an exemplary student, as Tip said he was, turn to a fast life of crime?

"I think for me, it was independence. It was about independence. It was about being a provider. It was me and my mom at that point, and from what I saw of my uncles and what I saw of my pops, they were providers," T.I. told MTV News on Saturday during his interview that will air Tuesday night (March 31) on MTV's "Road to Redemption: The Reckoning." "They provided for their family and other people's families. They were the ones that other people came to when they didn't know what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. Where there was no way, my uncles and my pops made a way, and that's what I saw."

For Tip, he said those figures became his examples. By the time he hit his teens, he moved to place himself in that provider position. He'd receive final-notice bills from his mother, and he said it was then his responsibility to make sure their lives remained...click to continue reading
