JANELLE MONÁE SET TO PERFORM TWO SPECIAL SHOWS [VIDEO]

JANELLE MONÁE SET TO PERFORM TWO SPECIAL SHOWS WITH THE SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY AND CHICAGO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA;

VIDEO FOR "Q.U.E.E.N." FEATURING ERYKAH BADU SURPASSES 4 MILLION VIEWS ON YOUTUBE;

NEW PRESS IMAGE FROM UPCOMING ALBUM, THE ELECTRIC LADY, REVEALED

Grammy-nominated artist, Janelle Monáe, is set to perform two special shows with the San Francisco Symphony and The Chicago Symphony Orchestra this month. Monáe will perform new arrangements of her critically acclaimed music, while being accompanied by each symphonies vibrant orchestrations. Monáe's first appearance with the San Francisco Symphony (SFS) will take place tonight, May 16th and will benefit SFS music and education programs. She will then join The Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) on May 20th, graciously filling in for Aretha Franklin, who regretfully had to cancel her appearance under doctor's orders. Proceeds from her performance at The League of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association's annual Corporate Night, will benefit the CSO's general operations and nationally recognized community engagement and music education programs.

Last month, Monáe released "Q.U.E.E.N" featuring Erykah Badu, a new track from her upcoming album, The Electric Lady, to extensive critical acclaim. VIBE declared the song a "sure-fire hit," and Rolling Stone referred to it as "An anthem of self-determination with a funkadelicious base line," while Stereogum hailed Monáe as "a hero...'Q.U.E.E.N' is an irresistibly funky vamp-strut with Afrobeat horns and Princely synth-squelches...and a rap verse that's better than it has any right to be." The companion video to the song received equal adulation, immediately trending worldwide on Twitter, and surpassing 4 million views on YouTube in just a few days. Today, Ms. Monáe - who has become a modern day style icon, revealed the first press image from her upcoming album, The Electric Lady (see attached.)

A groundbreaking, genre-blurring singer, songwriter, producer, and performer, Janelle Monáe's inventive style melds a refined pop sensibility with an extraordinary postmodern mash-up of soul, funk, and rock n roll. In the last two years, Monáe's career has blossomed following the release of her Grammy-nominated, first full-length LP, The ArchAndroid. Monáe has toured the world and been invited to perform at numerous festivals, including the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia, the Afro-Punk Festival in Brooklyn, and the NorthSea and Montreux Jazz Festivals. Her success has garnered her several global appearances, including a performance at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Additionally, Monáe has been honored with invitations to perform for the Democratic National Convention and for the President of the United States at The White House. Last year, she collaborated with Grammy Award-winning band fun. on their breakout hit single "We Are Young." Monáe was also recently signed as the newest CoverGirl spokesmodel. Her highly anticipated sophomore album, The Electric Lady, is due out later this year.

'Love and Hip Hop' Exclusive: The Risky Business of Being Joe Budden

Hip Hop's self-made reality star talks girls, girls, girls and 'No Love Lost'

(Atlanta, GA) Rolling out sits down with "Love & Hip Hop's" newest cast mate Joe Budden to discuss his role on the VH1 reality series, which isn't our first invitation into Budden's life as he installed cameras in his home years ago. The cameras captured his tumultuous relationship with his curvaceous then-girlfriend Tahiry, and his reality star fame was born.

Since then, Budden has had several very public relationships and suffered loss and setback. He speaks candidly with rolling out about his new album, titled No Love Lost, personal shortcomings and addiction. Joining the cast of "Love & Hip Hop" is just another chapter in Budden's story- one he feels will help others deal with their own tribulations. "I'm just thankful that rolling out would even consider having me on the cover. I appreciate it. It was a great shoot, great interview. Hopefully the fans enjoy it," Budden offers modestly.

LEGENDARY MUSIC GROUP TLC JOINS FORCES WITH VH1 TO BEGIN CASTING IN ORIGINAL BIO-PIC

TLC and VH1 seek crazysexycool actors for the role of the iconic band members

November 27, 2012

LOS ANGELES- VH1 has begun casting for the roles of Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, the late great Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, also known collectively as TLC, for a bio-pic focusing on the renowned super group. With a script by popular screenwriter Kate Lanier ("Set It Off", "What's Love Got to Do with It" and "Beauty Shop") the TV movie is slated to be released next year. The bio-pic is the first of a series of scripted music-focused TV movies that will air on VH1 throughout the year. Filming for the movie is scheduled to begin in early 2013.

TLC began their claim to fame in the early 1990's and throughout their 20 year journey in the music industry they have experienced success, turmoil, bankruptcy, and tragedy. Despite their ups and downs, they are a rare jewel with a unique history that needs to be unfolded. "I have always known that TLC's story was one that needs to be told", says Chilli. "I am beyond excited to begin casting for the movie; this is another dream coming true. I'm so thankful."

TLC dominated the music charts throughout the 90s and became one of the highest selling and most celebrated female acts of all time. The high-spirited, funky and colorful wearing trio entered the scene in 1992 with hit songs such as "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg", "Baby Baby Baby" and "What About Your Friends". By the mid 90s, they owned the charts with their sophomore release CrazySexyCool, which sold over 11 million albums and produced their biggest hit to date, "Waterfalls". By the end of the decade, TLC conquered the top of the charts again, after a four year hiatus, with the hit female anthem, "No Scrubs".

Sadly, in 2002, TLC experienced the biggest devastation of all in the loss of their band mate/friend/sister, Left Eye. Despite the tragic loss, T-Boz and Chilli have prolonged the legacy of TLC as a duo and continue to carry on. Although they work on solo projects, including individual reality shows, T-Boz and Chilli continue to reunite for spot performances and appearances as TLC.

T-Boz and Chilli have signed on to be consultants and executive producers for the bio-pic alongside Bill Diggins and Maggie Malina. Alexander Motlagh is executive producing for Pop Films. Jeff Olde and Jill Holmes serve as executive producers for VH1. Aside from the VH1 bio-pic, TLC is looking forward to a busy 2013 with many projects in the works. Currently Chilli will star in Rachel vs. Guy a celebrity cook-off program airing on the Food Network January 6, 2013 and T-Boz has a lifestyle reality show set to air in 2013.

RENEE GRAZIANO of VH1's 'Mob Wives' Lawyers Up With a Dream Team

Renee Graziano of VH-1's Mob Wives Lawyers Up with a Dream Team
For the Battle with Her Plastic Surgeon

New York, NY - A mob wife is nobody to toy with, as witnessed by VH-1's Mob Wives reality star Renee Graziano's lawyering up with a Dream Team of attorneys to go into battle against her plastic surgeon, Dr. Andrew Klapper, who has filed a $77 million dollar defamation lawsuit against her, for slander regarding her public statements about the procedures that he performed on her.

Graziano has retained veteran New York City based entertainment attorney Greg Griffith, along with two other New York City based legal heavyweights - Tanya Branch, a partner with Brody, Bernard & Branch, representing some of New York City's largest corporations, and William T. Burdo, who specializes in medical malpractice. Mr. Griffith, who has represented various A-list clients in the entertainment industry, is currently defending another client in a similar lawsuit, with an $18 million dollar price tag attached to it, in New York County Supreme Court.

Griffith's comment on the controversial case is "We embrace these challenging cases. Ms. Graziano is still healing, both emotionally and physically, from this experience, and we intend to aggressively defend her against the claims made by Dr. Klapper, by any and every legal means necessary, so that Ms. Graziano can finally put this whole unpleasant episode behind her. If the procedure had gone well and Dr. Klapper's practice had financially benefited from the millions of viewers who were watching the show and who appreciate Renee, would he have shared it with her?"

Stay tuned for the potential legal drama that should rival the boob tube ones as Renee Graziano's Dream Team goes to exonerate her of Dr. Klapper's erroneous charges

VH1 and Shaunie O'Neal Fire 3 Cast Members Due To Falling Ratings

According to gossip website TMZ.com, VH1 and Shaq's ex Shaunie O'Neal have axed 3 cast members of the problematic Basketball Wives reality show. If true, it can be assumed that VH1 and Shaunie found 3 new cast members - who were recruited to be "friends" of the other cast members.

A source told TMZ that Royce Reed, left, Jennifer Williams (right) and Kesha Nichols (center) also got their walking papers - and will be replaced next season.

TMZ claims Royce was axed because her baby daddy, Dwight Howard, got a judge to force Royce to keep his name out of her mouth. Jennifer was let go because she filed a fake lawsuit against Nia Crooks for slapping her on the show, and Kesha was just too "boring."

If this is true, the women are being fired to make room for new cast members who will breathe life into the show's falling ratings.

As you know, most urban reality shows are scripted urban soap operas surrounding a cast of fake "friends" who really didn't know each other until they met to read the scripts for the first time.

Networks such as VH1 and Bravo have audiences of gullible women (and some men) who believe everything the network throws at them. Thanks to blogs and other intellectuals, the public is now more aware of the wicked motivations behind these so-called urban "reality" shows.

An inside source told me that VH1 is dismayed that I seem to know so much about what's going on behind the scenes. The source told me that one of the producers asked her if she was telling me anything about the cast members. But she didn't have to tell me anything. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to see through their bullsh*t

TLC remembers Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes on the 10th anniversary of her passing

April 25, 2012 marks the ten year anniversary for the passing of Grammy award-winning TLC group member Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes. "The word anniversary means a celebration. For us her death will never be a celebration, it's still something that hurts," says T-Boz. Group member Chilli agrees, "Lisa is our sister. You never get over losing a family member. We love her and we miss her and that isn't ever going to change."

2012 is also the 20th anniversary for the group and is filled with many surprises for TLC fans worldwide. Chilli and T-Boz are very excited to be executive-producing a biopic on the group's story in conjunction with VH1. "This project is truly a dream come true for us," says Chilli. 'What's Love Got To Do With It' scribe Kate Lanier will pen the project, which documents TLC's rise to fame with 1991's "Ooooooohhh... On The TLC Tip" and their follow-up success with 1994's "CrazySexyCool," and eventually selling more than 65 million albums worldwide making them the biggest-selling girl group in history.

In addition to the movie, TLC is working on a 20th anniversary package which will include tour dates, an album project with new music and several remixes on some of their favorite hits. Chilli and T-Boz say they are looking forward to giving new music to their eagerly awaiting fans and returning to the stage.
