Twista - Wetter
T.I. feat Mary J. Blige - Don't Forget
T.I. feat Mary J. Blige - Don't Forget

I've been on vacation for a few weeks. I went to Virginia Beach for a week and then to New York to hang out. I hadn't been to New York in a long time and was excited to see what was going on. I visited Harlem and drove through the Bronx. I say drove through because I was looking for Stebbins Avenue. It's where my grandparents lived, but we couldn't find it and left. A little later on, we discovered the avenue's name had been changed Rev. Polite Ave.

On my way back to Atlanta, I heard Twista's new song Wetter. There was this girl singing "I'm calling you daddy, daddy. Can you be my daddy, daddy? I need a daddy, daddy; won't you be my daddy, daddy? Come and make it rain down onnnn meeeeeee."

That bothers me because when I hear "I need a daddy," I really hear the young girl saying I NEED MY DADDY. To me, a woman that's had her daddy in her life would never "need" a daddy!

When the father is absent, she's going to look for that fatherly love and hence songs like this. Besides, the thing that sticks in my mind when I hear "rain on meee" is R. Kelly who was charged with peeing on a girl, but was found not guilty of charges of child molestation.

Another song that's bothering me is T.I.'s Don't Forget. The song is basically an "I'm going to jail" song and what bothers me is that he is acting like he's spending a hundred years behind bars. He's using MLK and Muhammad Ali in the lyrics and yes, they went to jail, but it wasn't for being a FELON BUYING GUNS!!!!!

Dude you are not a martyr. You are not a political prisoner. You are a rapper that messed up. Get over it.

Michael Vick didn't get to write a song telling people not to forget him. He spent two years in prison for killing some damn dogs but Donte' Stallworth gets thirty days for killing a man while driving drunk? WTF?!?!?!

Screw the probation and community service that goes with the thirty-day sentence. He killed a man and got thirty days!!!! He will resume his football career faster than Mike Vick will, I guarantee that.

I don't care how contrite he was. I don't care that he admitted to hitting the guy while drinking and driving or that he gave the family a cash settlement. The simple fact that a dog's life gets a man two years in prison and killing a man with a car while driving drunk gets a man thirty days is just plain bullisht.
