Ne-Yo's Non-Fiction is this year's first solid R&B album. He paints a picture of real relationship experiences, not necessarily all his own of course, but relatable to say the least. He takes you on a musical lesson about money, fame, and of course women. He's open and honest about some not so good choices you could make when you get captivated by all three. The singer/songwriter is displaying his maturity and growth which could be a career death sentence if your core fans don't like the sound though I doubt he'll have that problem. Sticking to his roots of writing longing love songs he sprinkles in Schoolboy Q, T. I., Young Jeezy, and Juicy J for the right amount of hip-hop flavor and David Guetta and Pit Bull provide what has now become Ne-Yo's signature Pop sound. One More and Who's Taking You Home are my favorite tracks right now and hopefully will follow She Knows and Money Can't Buy on radio rotation. This album has more than sad love songs and when you are not thinking about that special someone you let get away, you'll be dancing out of your seat!
