Ab-Soul Fires Shots At You-Know-Who: "These New 'Lil' N*ggas Is Weak"
Top Dawg Entertainment's Ab-Soul has social media buzzing. The outspoken hip-hop artist has fired shots, presumably, at a particular rap newcomer.
Ab jumped on Twitter this week with his dicey hip-hop-fueled words.
Some media outlets believe Ab's remarks had rap newcomer Lil Uzi Vert's name written all over them.
Soul-O is referencing an interview Uzi did with Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning (included below) in which the "Money Longer" rapper refused to freestyle over the beat for Gang Starr's "Mass Appeal." "Oh he making me rap on that?" Uzi says when Ebro mentions the track. "I'm too young, I'm not into that." Later on, when the discussion gets back to freestyling, Uzi says, "I'm telling you right now if you pull up one of them old beats I'm not rapping on it." (XXL Mag)
No stranger to controversy, AS recently singled out rap veteran Jay Electronica for dissing his labelmate Kendrick Lamar.
During Ab's set, he kicked a few bars a capella. He also went at Jay Electronica, rapping this line, "I was like a swami to Jay Electronica until he figured that Kendrick wouldn't admit that he would body him for a milly." (Complex)
In April, Electronica publicly apologized to Lamar for dissing him during a Periscope session.
