Azealia Banks Gives Woke AF Reason Why We Should Rethink Ditching CDs For Streaming Giants

New York rapper Azealia Banks is way more woke than you think. The hip-hop diva has delivered a very real message about why we should reconsider dumping our physical music collections in exchange for digital tunes.

Banks went to her Instagram Story Tuesday (March 6) and talked about the real possibility of labels or streaming giants making your fave artists' projects fade to black for good.

All jokes aside, this is the realest explanation ever on why we might really want to keep those physical albums forever. 🤔 📸 #AzealiaBanks

Last month, buzz developed about retail giant Best Buy gearing up to phase out selling physical CDs.

Best Buy has just told music suppliers that it will pull CDs from its stores come July 1. At one point, Best Buy was the most powerful music merchandiser in the U.S., but nowadays it's a shadow of its former self, with a reduced and shoddy offering of CDs. Meanwhile, sources say that Target has demanded to music suppliers that it wants to be sold on what amounts to a consignment basis. Currently, Target takes the inventory risk by agreeing to pay for any goods it is shipped within 60 days, and must pay to ship back unsold CDs for credit. With consignment, the inventory risk shifts back to the labels. (Billboard)

Recently, Azealia promised to deliver some game-changing new music.

Earlier this month, Banks blessed fans with her "Movin' On Up 4.0" single.
