New York rap newcomer Cardi B is doing big numbers. A new report claims the Bronx native's infectious "Bodak Yellow" has her on Nicki Minaj's level.
According to reports, Cardi's hit record has remained in the Hot 100 for a fifth straight week.
The ascent makes "Bodak" the highest-charting hit by an unaccompanied female rapper (no other artists on the billing) since Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" burst to No. 2 in 2014. The tune leaps 13-6 on Streaming Songs (24.5 million U.S. streams in the week ending Aug. 3, according to Nielsen Music, up 56 percent), rises 35-20 on Digital Song Sales (22,000 sold according to Nielsen Music, up 39 percent) and nears Radio Songs (22 million in audience, up 54 percent). Earlier in the week, Cardi showed some serious love to rumored boyfriend Offset.
A few days ago, Cardi pulled through for one of Offset's Migos concerts.
