Canadian hip-hop artist Tory Lanez is going to need the best attorney money can buy. The hip-hop newcomer has reportedly found himself in handcuffs on multiple criminal charges.
According to reports, the bust went down Wednesday (April 12) in Florida.
According to an arrest report, Miramar police pulled over Lanez's 2014 Rolls-Royce in the 1900 block of Southwest 172nd Avenue, which police said had an expired tag. Authorities said Lanez, 24, does not have a valid driver's license in Florida or any other U.S. state. The arresting officer noted in the arrest report that a strong odor of marijuana was emanating from Lanez's vehicle and a small amount of marijuana was found in the glove box. The officer said he also found a concealed, loaded, unholstered gun in the center console. (Local 10 News)
Despite the arrest's seriousness, Tory has since been released from jail.
Lanez was arrested on charges of illegally carrying a concealed weapon, possession of fewer than 20 grams of cannabis, failure to register a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a license and operating a vehicle that is not properly insured. Lanez has since bonded out of jail. (Local 10 News)
Last month, speculation developed over Lanez rap rival Drake firing a subliminal diss his way.
"You overnight celebrity you one day star/I swear I told you I'm in this b*tch for eternity/I am a reflection of all of your insecurities/Behind closed doors a lot of 6 God worshipping/Done talk now 'cause there's other sh*t that concerning me," Drake offers on "Do Not Disturb." On the most basic level, this could be a play on Tory's given name, Daystar Peterson. There's also the not so subtle reference to I Told You, which was the title of Tory's 2016 studio album. Earlier this year, Lanez praised Drake mentor Lil Wayne's greatness.
