OVO Sound boss Drake and Future's $25 million rape case is now a thing of the past. New reports claim the duo are in the clear over their alleged role in a woman getting sexually assaulted at one of their concerts.
According to reports, Drizzy and Future Hendrix have been dismissed from the hefty suit.
Drake and Future are in the clear after a Tennessee judge dismissed them from a $25 million rape case. Documents obtained by PEOPLE have revealed that the hip-hop superstars (born Aubrey Drake Graham and Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, respectively) were dismissed without prejudice from the suit on Wednesday — however, several other defendants continue to face accusations. Additional reports claim the attack happened summer 2016 at a Tennessee show.
The woman, who only identified herself as Jane Doe, claims she was attacked and raped by a man working security at a Drake/Future concert on August 14, 2016 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The alleged assailant, later identified as Leavy Johnson, has since been arrested and charged with rape, according to The Tennessean. He is currently awaiting trial. (The Blast)
The alleged victim reportedly tried to go meet Drake and Future backstage.
Court records detail the 28-year-old woman's account of what happened at the concert: She was trying to get backstage to meet Drake and a worker told her he could help. Around a corner, the man pushed her down and raped her. (Tennessean)
Outside of the legal drama, Drake's recently released "God's Plan" anthem made headlines this week for its latest streaming numbers.
With 101.7 million U.S. streams to its name in the last week, “God’s Plan” becomes only the second song ever to break the 100 million streams marker, following Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” (103.1 million). The boost is due in part to the music video, in which Drake gave away $1 million. “God’s Plan” has had at least 75 million U.S. streams each week, allowing it to have five of the top eight weekly totals ever.
