Eminem's Ready To Get Another 8 MILE-Type Movie Out To The World [Video]
Grammy-winning rapper Eminem wants the world to know battle rap is a real thing. The hip-hop mogul is reportedly behind an upcoming film based on the lyrical sport.
According to reports, Slim Shady is producing an upcoming film called Bodied about real life rapper Alex "Kid Twist" Larsen's rise in the Toronto rap scene.
It's directed by Joseph Kahn, who has previously worked with artists like Taylor Swift and Imagine Dragons. Kahn has a long relationship with Eminem , directing the videos for "Love The Way You Lie" and "We Made You." Bodied stars Canadian rapper Calum Worthy as a grad student who chooses to study battle rap for his thesis; it quickly shifts from a school project to his obsession. It's based on the true story of Kid Twist (Alex Larsen) who is now a rapper and author. The film will premiere at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, as a part of their Midnight Madness Program. (Genius)
Recently, film director Allen Hughes revealed Dr. Dre is quietly putting together Eminem's next album.
"Dre still records. People don't know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he's in there recording songs every day. He's like Picasso in that way. He's always painting. Right now he's producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem's latest album. So Dre's still real active in music, you know? But I hear what you're saying. It's the truth." (UPROXX)
In June, Em raised eyebrows after he hooked up with G.O.O.D. Music's 2 Chainz.
Last month, Em showed off a fresh beard at a The Defiant Ones premiere alongside Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine.
