FBG Duck's Mom Says She's "Proud" Of Lil Durk For Trying To "Stop The Violence"

Lil Durk has made efforts to make his community a better place in recent times. He vowed to stop dissing the dead - a promise that was half kept - and pushed further with his philanthropic endeavors. Although his feud with NBA Youngboy still lingers, he's evidently trying to make a change and we have to applaud him for that. However, many still criticize the rapper for some of the violent content that lingers in his music. Lasheena Weekly, the mother of the late FBG Duck, has aired out her frustrations with Durk in the past.

Duck and Durk's feud stems from issues between their respective crews in Chicago. Shortly after Duck's death, Durk previewed a record mentioning the late rapper. Weekly slammed Durk and his crew for frequently bringing up the deceased in their songs. "Y'all rich off mentioning Tooka. Show your craft!" she said at the time. "Do something besides dissing music. Your ass sitting up here mentioning somebody who ain't give two fucks about you."

Despite their differences, FBG Duck's mother applauded Lil Durk for trying to make a difference these days. She invited Durk to meet with her and the Mothers Of Peace & Justice organization to try and help end the violence in their city. "@LilDurk as a mother that's lost her son to this senseless war that's divided Chicago, I'm proud to see that you are taking steps to bring our city together and stop the violence," Weekly wrote. "You met with [new Mayor Brandon Johnson], now I'm asking that you meet with me and the @MothersOfPeace to take further steps to unite our city."

Over the past few weeks, Lil Durk's met with city officials, including Chicago's Mayor, to try and curb violence in the city of Chicago. He explained in the comment section of one of Akademiks' post: "It ain't album promo it's saving kids lifes." However, he elaborated in an interview with XXL that he's planning on putting together more campaigns outside of holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving to create more opportunities to help people.
