Chicago rapper G Herbo is a free man again. The hip-hop artist is out of jail after getting busted last week on a felony gun possession charge.
According to reports, Herbo left law enforcement's grasp yesterday but is due in court today.
Now, a representative for Wright confirms to Pitchfork that he has been released from jail. On the night of February 22, Wright and two other men were each allegedly “armed with a loaded firearm” when their car was stopped by police. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Wright is due back in court [Friday]. (Pitchfork)
Throughout the week, buzz developed over Herbo's driver allegedly snitching on him to police and ultimately landing him in jail.
"The person who was driving him around actually tipped police off on the weapons that were in the car according to the driver and clearly the driver gives no f*cks about really spilling the beans. Basically the god d*mn driver told the cops, 'Hey, hey, I'm seeing a lot of guns in the car so please pull us over and arrest these mofos."
Last week, reports went viral about Herbo finding himself in jail following a traffic stop.
Central District officers conducted the stop about 10:35 p.m. in the first block of East Roosevelt Road, according to a statement from Chicago Police. Herbert Wright, 22, of the South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood; Deavonte Royale Kimbale, 25, of Compton, California; and Marchello Walton, 36, of Phenix City, Alabama, were all arrested after the stop when the officers found that they were each armed with a loaded gun, police said.
