JAY-Z's 40/40 Club Turns Into Crime Scene For Undefeated Boxer, Women On The Run W/ Nearly $150,000

Music mogul JAY-Z's 40/40 Club is making headlines for the wrong reasons. A new report claims undefeated fighter Jermall Charlo is out $145,000 in cash and jewelry at the hands of some female clubgoers.

According to reports, an unnamed woman took off with Charlo's possessions Sunday (March 4) morning after he found himself in a physical altercation at the sports bar's Manhattan location.

The assistant handed one of the women the bag — containing $40,000 in cash and $115,000 worth of bling — to hold during the unsanctioned sparring match, sources said. But when the tiff ended and the Texan light middleweight returned to his seat — he learned the woman had absconded with his pricey pack along with her four pals, according to cops. Police are now on the hunt for the bag thief and her entourage, who were all caught on security camera leaving the club. (New York Post)

This past weekend, Charlo shared a pic from Brooklyn's Barclays Center arena.

Back in 2014, JAY-Z's 40/40 Club made headlines over a bomb scare.

The NYPD's Bomb Squad was dispatched to the Flatiron District Tuesday morning after a bizarre object that looked like an explosive was found in a phone booth outside a restaurant owned by rapper Jay Z, officials said. The device, described by police sources as "a flashing light with wires attached to two pieces of wood" was found in a booth outside the 40/40 Club on W. 25th St. and Broadway just after 7 a.m. (NY Daily News)

In 2012, JAY's New Jersey 40/40 Club location shut down after opening in the mid-2000's.

Atlantic City's 40/40 Club, co-owned by hip-hop star Jay Z, has closed. The Press of Atlantic City reported the $4 million club actually shut down in October when its lease expired. Club spokesman Ron Berkowitz told the newspaper the club has not operated since Superstorm Sandy flooded it and tore a hole in the roof, right around when its lease ended. Since it opened in October 2005, the club hosted stars including Beyonce, rapper Lil' Wayne, and rapper and current "American Idol" judge Nicki Minaj, in addition to numerous sports celebrities.
