J.I.D. & 6LACK's Collabo Album Is "Almost Done"

Before J.I.D. joined J. Cole's Dreamville records, he was an integral part of the Spillage Village movement. In fact, his Atlanta home is still referred to as the "Spill-Vill house," with posters of several early-game J.I.D. and EarthGang records lining the walls; read more about those days through our latest Digital Cover Story here. As the legend goes, 6lack used to swing through the spot, holding it down as an integral piece of the Spill Vill movement. Now, it would appear that J.I.D. and 6LACK are looking to take it back to a simpler time, with the former providing an update on their oft-teased joint album.

"Been working on this album since 2014," writes J.I.D, in a Dreamville Festival photo of himself and 6LACK. "It’s almost ready." While that might mean anything in rap-years, it does indicate that the project is nearing completion, and will likely surface at some point within the next two years. Last year found both 6lack and J.I.D. releasing solo albums, with East Atlanta Love Letter and DiCaprio 2 respectively; could it be that a joint album is the next logical step?
Maybe, maybe not. Lest we forget, J.I.D. already has Revenge Of The Dreamers 3 on deck, along with the upcoming effort with No I.D. As for 6LACK, he's largely kept a low-profile since his sophomore project, though such is his way. Keep an eye out for more news on this one, and sound off below - you think this one is coming soon?
