Kendrick Lamar's Gonna Make Competition Say DAMN Again, Teases More Anthems On Deck [Video]
Top Dawg Entertainment's Kendrick Lamar isn't slowing down. The hip-hop superstar has announced plans to release more new music in the near future.
New footage has surfaced of K. Dot at a Thursday (April 20) album signing in Compton, California and revealing fresh tunes are to come.
As expected, the event attracted a huge turnout, with thousands of people lining up at the city's Best Buy hoping to meet the Grammy-award winning rapper. A member of the TDE crew shared the appearance on an Instagram Live broadcast, which ended with some pretty big news. Or, at least, what sounds like big news. At around the 21-minute mark, Kendrick looks into the phone, thanks his fans, and announces: "I got some more music." (Complex)

The latest sales projections have Lamar's DAMN. album set to reach a new retail milestone.
This week, Kendrick blew fans away with his new "DNA" music video.
It stars actor Don Cheadle, who kicks off the video by interrogating Kendrick. "Kendrick Lamar, two first names, huh," he says. "What the fuck is up with that?" He then proceeds to lip sync the song, switching off with Kendrick. The end of the video features a new outro not found on the album version of the song, and the visual ends with Schoolboy Q walking towards the camera before punching it out. (Pitchfork)
Lamar's new "Humble" anthem is currently the theme of this year's NBA playoffs.
The NBA playoffs have a history of iconic theme songs, from "Roundball Rock" when the games were shown on NBC, to the ABC/ESPN era with Pitbull chanting "PLAYOFFS" in a remix of "Timber" with Kesha. This year's playoffs theme song is (objectively) a lot better than what's been in played in years' past: you'll be hearing Kendrick Lamar's "Humble" a lot for the next two months. It's a cleaner version, given that it's on broadcast television, but having that song be the theme is an automatic win for the NBA. (SB Nation)
The NBA playoffs start tomorrow at 3 ET on ABC.
