Kevin Gates Finally Tasting Freedom, Officially Days Away From Release
Louisiana rapper Kevin Gates is 'this' close to getting his freedom back. New reports claim the hip-hop artist is set to be released from jail in the coming days.
Barring any unexpected setbacks, Gates will become a free man next week.
Rapper Kevin Gates is just days away from tasting freedom ... but then again, he's been down this road before. Fast forward to present-day - Lindsey Hess at the Illinois Department of Correction tells TMZ ... Kevin's scheduled to be released on Wednesday, after serving 9 months. Hess says Gates is getting out on parole, and his release conditions include mandatory supervision and no possession of firearms. (TMZ)
Around Christmas, buzz and speculation stirred about Gates' release.
Kevin Gates, who dropped By Any Means 2 while still behind bars, has had his projected parole date update on the Illinois Department of Corrections website and it says that the emcee could be out of prison as early as January 10th of 2018, so basically in a couple of weeks. (HNHH)
In mid-July, Gates' wife Dreka announced plans to get his music out to the masses.
Last spring, Dreka teased fans about his upcoming "What If" music video premiere.
Watching the first edit of the #whatif video. I cried watching it. It's going to be a great piece. You guys will get to see it soon! @iamkevingates #bossmaynedrek #bwa
