Nas Names Some Of His Biggest Music Inspirations: "They Inspire Me To Move Forward In My Work"

New York rapper Nas' roots are deeper than Run-DMC and LL Cool J. The hip-hop veteran has credited the works of music icons like Louis Armstrong and Sarah Vaughn for fueling his craft.

Nasty Nas went to Instagram Wednesday (February 7) with a salute to some of the music industry's most legendary entertainers.

Music has been a relentless advocate for the black experience. Robert Johnson, Louis Armstrong and Sarah Vaughn all come from a rich tradition of native musician storytellers - and inspire me to move forward in my work. Last week, music producer DJ Khaled hinted at big things coming together with Nas and rap icon JAY-Z.

A hip hop dream is now our reality. The language being spoken in this picture should be written in scriptures. This picture should be framed and put up in the museums across the world for future generations to appreciate. I'll tell you while we're smiling at a later date. Trust me you're gonna love it!BLESS UP! #WETHEBEST! 👑👑👑🔑🔑🔑
