"Power" Creator On Past 50 Cent Beef: "It's All Bulls**t! - He's A Brilliant Marketer"
"Power" creator Courtney Kemp has finally let the cat out of the bag. The TV executive has come forward to speak out on a now-infamous dispute with 50 Cent.
According to Kemp, Fif sparked a bogus summer 2016 social media dispute over a nude "Power" scene.
"It's all bullsh*t!" she says says bluntly. Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" pulses from a Mac desktop in her office. "50 and I are extremely close, so all that social media drama? It's just for the show. People truly believed that he did not know his d*ck was going to be on camera. I couldn't believe it! Do you know how long we had to prepare for that shot? Of course he knew. The whole thing just gave us so much more buzz and helped me realize how we can use social media to our advantage. 50 Cent is a brilliant marketer." (Refinery 29)
Last August, Curtis Jackson talked about the jaw-dropping nude moment.
"I knew it was there, but in the original clips, it was darker. It wasn't on, like, a big screen, like a life-sized version. It wasn't like an accident. ["Power" creator] Courtney [Kemp] was like, 'I didn't want to show it to you in the beginning, because I didn't think you needed to see it at that point - you just gotta take one for the team.'" ("Jimmy Kimmel Live!")
After his naked "Power" scene aired, Curtis Jackson revealed the impact it had on his family.
In early August, 50 lashed out at Starz and "Power" creator Courtney Kemp over his nude scene airing.
