TDE President Responds To Lupe Fiasco Going At Kendrick Lamar: "Go Kick & Push Yourself Into A Tree

Top Dawg Entertainment president Dave Free isn't here for Lupe Fiasco's accusations. The hip-hop executive has responded to the Grammy-winning rapper accusing his protégé Kendrick Lamar low-key jacking artwork for his newest tune.

Free went to Twitter this weekend and laughed off Lupe comparing K. Dot's "All the Stars" single artwork to his 2016 Drogas Light cover art.

Dave's comment came after Lupe put up some since-deleted Twitter remarks name-checking Lamar.

Comparing the cover art for one of the variations of his Drogas Light album covers he presented in April 2016, and the artwork for K. Dot and SZA's new single, "All the Stars," from the Black Panther movie soundtrack, he noted, "Even I admit this is a little too close for comfort.... damn now I guess I need a new album cover... thanx @TheBlackPanther," adding a sad emoji. He added, "All black covers, backwards albums. Now this...I'm getting suspiciously delicious hahahha." (XXL Mag)

A few days ago, Top Dawg Entertainment head Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith hyped up K. Dot executive producing Marvel Studios' upcoming Black Panther: The Album.

Earlier in the week, buzz developed over Top Dawg and Kendrick Lamar getting nabbed for the Marvel Studios project.

Internationally-celebrated Grammy® Award-winning global superstar Kendrick Lamar and Billboard Magazine's Executive of the Year, Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith, are set to curate and produce "Black Panther: The Album." The album will feature music from and inspired by Marvel Studios' Black Panther film including the lead single, "All The Stars," featuring Kendrick Lamar and label mate SZA, produced by Sounwave. "Black Panther" is directed by critically acclaimed filmmaker Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Oscar® winner Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira, among others. Lamar and Tiffith will collaborate with Coogler directly in the creation of music specific to the needs of the film. This will mark the first time that Lamar, whom Rolling Stone dubbed "the greatest rapper alive," will write, produce, perform and curate for a major motion picture.
