Since sharing the news of a third Bad Boys project, Will Smith and co-star Martin Lawrence have spent the majority of time immersed in their "Mike Lowrey" and "Marcus Burnett" pseudonyms. Over the weekend, Will and Martin for their imminent production run by watching the first two films in quick succession. Will Smith capped things off by posting a portrait photo with his co-star, along with a revelatory message in the caption section. "First Day of Shooting tomorrow! We watched BadBoys 1 & 2 together over the weekend. It’s about to be KRAZY!" he wrote on Instagram a few hours ago.
So there's that, Bad Boys 3 begins shooting tomorrow just two months after Lawrence went public with the inaugural mission statement. Understandably, movie-goers have taken to social media to voice their excitement.
Michael Bay who directed the first two films will be displaced by the directorial duo of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah in the latest installment. The plot in this latest venture is centered around the "Boys" falling out momentarily only to be reunited on the basis of their shared convictions. Unsurprisingly, Will Smith returns as the "sexpot" in their dynamic, except this time around, his character "Mike Lowrey" is finally experiencing a midlife crisis, not unlike the actor's real-life circumstances.
