Cedar Rapids, IA - May 16, 2018 - The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department is excited to offer a new and original exercise experience this summer for ages 12 and up at the McGrath Amphitheatre. FUSE (Fitness, Unity, Spirituality, Energy), led by Lindsay Olson and Riley Mullane, combines a live DJ with plyometric movements and body weight exercises for circuits with cardio and strength training. Yoga will also be incorporated near the end of the workout. No equipment is needed. Participants should bring a water bottle and towel and prepare for a fun, high-energy workout to the best beats.
The one-hour classes are $10 per day and begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, June 12, June 26, July 10, July 24, August 14 and August 28. Registration is available at the amphitheater on the scheduled date (cash or check) or in advance at CRREC.org. FUSE apparel will be available for purchase. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Lindsay Olson, former Coe College swimmer, has worked in corporate wellness for 4 years and is the Corporate Fitness and Wellness Coordinator for United Fire Group. She has helped several businesses in the corridor turn the corner to a better health culture. She's personally competed in: 37 sprint triathlons, 5 half marathons, 2 marathons, and a half-ironman. Lindsay's ultimate goal is to help people become the best version of themselves by means of movement and motivation.
Riley Mullane has spent more than 13 years as a DJ performing at 250+ weddings and 350+ corporate events. He continues to push for innovation and successful event execution throughout the corridor. As one of the area's only Event Experience Consultants, he works directly with businesses and hospitality groups to ensure their event planning experience is done efficiently, and most importantly, effectively from beginning to end.
