Chicago Area Facebook Live Shooter Turns Herself Into Police

By Jerrita Dee

Last Tuesday (Jan 2), a young woman named Kearra Hardmon was outside her home when she saw another young woman who she previously had issues with. Assuming a confrontation was on the horizon, she jumped on Facebook Live so others could witness the confrontation. The other woman, LaBritney Austin, who is the girlfriend of Hardmon, pulled out a gun and shot Hardmon, despite the camera rolling.

LaBritney Austin, a resident of University Park, turned herself into the police the next day. She is being charged with aggravated battery by disarming a firearm. She is scheduled to appear in bond court.

As for the confrontation, Hardmon said she and Austin had arguments in the past but they never hit each other. She says that's why she's surprised Austin showed up with a gun and even more surprised she pulled the trigger.
