The Taste of Chicago official kicks of today (July 11) and it will feature some of the best Chicago restaurants along with some amazing musical acts. The annual food festival will take place in Grant Park and will go from July 11 thru July 15. The 38th edition of the Taste of Chicago will feature over 70 eateries and 230 dishes ranging from giant turkey legs to tacos and everything in between. Along with all the food and drinks (did we mention all the pizza), the fest will feature a wide array of musical acts including the Flaming Lips, George Clinton and local favorite The Boy Illinois.
Location: Grant Park (between Lake Shore Drive, Monroe Street, Michigan Avenue and Balbo Drive)
Hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 11 to 15, Wednesday-Friday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday-Sunday
Tickets: Admission is free. General admission seating for performances at the Petrillo Music Shell range in price from $18 to $50 (lawn seating in Butler Field is free). Performances at the Goose Island Stage are free.
Food and beverage tickets can be purchased in strips of 14 for $10 (includes $3 charge for Taste amenities). Cost in number of tickets for menu items differs. There are smaller "Taste of" items available from most vendors for 3 to 6 tickets each.
