The Grammy Committee Does Not Like Rap Music

Many are not familiar with the process of the how an artists nomination for a Grammy win, which is determine by 150 members who are in good standards with the academy. But, obviously the process has its flaws when it comes to rap artist.

Case in point, superstar rapper Eminem been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards throughout his illustrious career. However, despite being regarded as one of music's geniuses, he has never won a Grammy outside of the genre.
Its evident the Grammy Committee does not like rap music (In My Kanye Voice). This year Eminem became the leading nominee with 10 nominations, including in the prestigious album, record and song of the year categories. But, walked away with just two: best solo rap performance and best rap album for "Recovery".

Hip-Hop has always had a contentious relationship with The Grammys. Hence, the reason why Jay-Z has not been present in the last couple of years.

In 2002 Hov stated: I am boycotting the Grammys because too many major rap artists continue to be overlooked. Rappers deserve more attention from the Grammy committee and from the whole world. If it's got a gun everybody knows about it; but if we go on a world tour, no one knows."
