Chris Scholar: New R&B Sensation

At the age of 21, Virginia native and sensational R&B force Chris Scholar is one to look out for.more Being inspired by his older brother, Chris definitely has what it takes to be the next best thing. Drawing comparison to major artist Chris Brown, Scholar too can sing, dance and write.  Not only does he have talent, but he has the brains to go along with it. Receiving his mass communications degree from VCU, Scholar is able to produce his own pieces of work through his production company.  Scholar says he chose communications for the video production it offers and to fine-tune his skills with the camera.  Countless numbers of opportunities have been presented for the young sensation. "Singing the national anthem at the New York Knicks vs. Washington Wizards was definitely an exciting, nervous, and scary opportunity," says Chris. Also being given a chance to sing in front of LA Reid, inspired by Jermaine Dupri, was a mind boggling experience and a chance not everyone is presented with.



Doing shows all over the East Coast and soon preparing to reach the West Coast, he describes none other than his hometown to show the most support and love from fans. Giving the fans hit songs such as "G- Thang," "Flower Bomb," and "Aye Oh" feat K-Prime, he keeps the fans screaming for more. Coming from Virginia with such a powerful line of mainstream artist such as Trey Songz and Chris Brown, Scholar definitely wants to leave his own mark. He has worked with some of the best in the game including Gucci Mane, Rio, Grammy Award winning producer whohas worked with Ashanti, and others. These key people have helped mentor him and make him a   stronger vocalist. When asked which artist he wanted to work with, with no hesitation he listed one of the greats in the business, Andre 3000.

Chris Scholar is taking over YouTube with his web series show entitled "If I Were Mike". The show is inspired by all of the greats with the name Michael: Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, Michael Angelo, and even the kid himself "Chris Michael" to name a few. All are in his eyes, the greats, including himself.  This series takes a personal look into his life and experiences on his journey to greatness.
