Cubs Lose to Yankees - As his line drive landed safely in left field, Jose Trevino tossed his bat aside and broke into a big smile on the way to first base. Come on out and celebrate, he waved to Yankees teammates hopping over the dugout railing. At last, a hit in extra innings! And all it took was one.

White Sox Beat Rangers - Yasmani Grandal hit a tiebreaking, two-run double with two outs in the eighth inning and the Chicago White Sox beat the Texas Rangers 8-3 on Friday night. Danny Mendick homered to cap a five-run eighth as the White Sox tagged John King.
