It will be hard to forget the day of January 20, 2021, when history was made in Washington, D.C. as Vice President Kamala Harris, was sworn in one of the American government's highest positions.

Not only was it a day of commemoration, but it was a day of "firsts" as Vice President Kamala Harris became the first woman and of color to occupy the role.

Those barriers of breakage have continued as it was announced on Wednesday (April 28) that Kamala Harris will be memorialized at the famed Madame Tussauds wax museum. Her resemblance will grace the space in the New York location alongside President Joe Biden and other political elites later this year.

The museum estimates that it will take around six weeks to create the clay molded heads of both Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, and an additional four to six months for the completion of the wax-inspired figures. The replicas will be helmed by artist Christopher John Rogers.

In an Instagram post, sculptor Vicky Grant complimented the Vice President's essence,

"I feel like she is so engaging when she smiles."

The wax figure is slated to have Harris in a purple blazer and dress with pearls as an accessory replicating her outfit on Inauguration Day.

Harris embraced the honor of being a "first" on election night while in Wilmington, Delaware. She thanked Black women, saying they are "too often overlooked, but so often prove that they are the backbone of our democracy."

She also emphasized why being a "first" can be monumental towards change,

"While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last...Because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities."

Harris and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi also shared a historical moment as the first two women who sat behind the president during a joint session of Congress.
