A Product Development Specialist (PDS) is someone who is a detail oriented project lead and video editor who is passionate about education and technology.
A TrainSignal Product Development Specialist works directly with the instructor and the marketing team to create the highest quality educational material possible. A PDS is an integral part of course production, offering input into course organization, design and clarity of instruction while editing and proofing content and other educational materials.
What you'll be doing on a day to day basis on:
Pre-Production:
• Reviewing and editing PowerPoint slide decks for lessons
• Research course topics and assist in creating course outlines
Production:
• Operating Prosumer cameras like Panasonic AG-HMC150
• Shooting interviews with instructors
• Setting up shots with basic 3 point lighting techniques
• Setting up audio sources for multiple audio inputs
Post-Production:
• Editing video that is recorded by instructors
• Creating bumper graphics
• Producing graphics for video overlays
• Audio normalization and noise reduction
• Reviewing video for quality assurance
• Providing feedback to instructors to constantly improve our training
• Uploading and managing online video content in multiple online environments
• Writing lesson descriptions of videos
• Editing XML & HTML for course menus
• Editing Adobe Illustrator files for DVD labels and covers

Qualifications Necessary for a PDS:
• 4 year college degree related to film or communication
• 1-3 years of video production experience
• Work with Adobe Production Suite CS5 or CS5.5 (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) - Final Cut Pro experience is okay, but you will be using Adobe Premiere
• Current or working towards technical certification(s) (MCTS, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCITP)
Additional experience in any of the following:
• Web Programming (HTML, XML, PHP, etc. . .)
• Experience working on documentaries
• Graphic design
• Education or eLearning
• Curriculum development
• Editing and proofreading
