ATTN: Chicago - Videographers and Editors Needed

A small, Chicago-based production company specializing in artistic personal and family documentaries is currently hiring videographers and editors.

*Videographer:*

Qualities sought in a videographer are reliability, creativity, willingness to push boundaries and a a great eye for composition. Our shoots feature 2 cameras, one steady shot from a camera on a tripod and one almost entirely handheld. So you must be comfortable moving around and constantly adjusting focus as you capture both small details and interesting medium shots. Each shoot is very different and most are done on location, so this role will require someone who is able to fly to various U.S. cities on weekends (usually leaving Friday and returning late Saturday night). Typically we travel for shoots once per month. Pay is per project.

*Editor:*

Qualities sought in an editor are keen attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and most of all courage to try new things and stand up for artistic choices. While some elements to our projects follow a specific sort of pattern, we are looking for editors who want to take risks but who can also accept constructive feedback. Each project is a bit different in length, but turnaround times will be clearly expressed at the outset of a project. It is of utmost importance that we can rely on you to deliver on time as our clients often have a specific deadline we must adhere to no matter what. Pay is per project and will vary depending on length of final cut.

Our clients are interesting, fun and most of all genuinely excited to be working with us. It is not your typical production environment and because we are small, personality really does matter. We are looking for people who are passionate about creating art and unlike many craigslist posts in tv/film/video, we do not expect you to share your talent for pennies.
