Former Cocaine Kingpin Willy Falcon's Story To Become A Movie

One of the underworld's most infamous figures is taking his talents to Hollywood. Former kingpin Willy Falcon's story is set to be a movie.





Deadline is exclusively reporting that former president of Tyler Perry Studios is betting on himself and he is hoping to hit it big by partnering with Willy Falcon. This week, Ozzie Areu announced that he will bring the former Cuban drug lord's memoir, The Last Kilo: Willy Falcon and the Cocaine Empire That Seduced America, to life. Ozzie detailed his plans and why he believes Willy is larger than life. "This is a story that's captivated audiences for decades. Now, in legendary form, Willy Falcon is opening up about the life he lived," Areu said. "I'm already in talks with some of the industry's top writers to give these stories the caliber of writing they deserve - from anti-Castro alliances to secret deals with Noriega, Escobar, and even the CIA. This is the unfiltered truth."

Willy Falcon also made it clear that this not a vanity project but an opportunity to share his truth. "I've waited decades for this moment because I want people to finally hear the whole truth," Falcon said in a formal statement. "It's time to share my story, my legacy - nothing is off-limits. This goes beyond the rumors and what's been written in the press." Ozzie believes Willy's story is so powerful that he plans to not make a feature film about it but also has plans to create a television series and a podcast. 

Augusto Guillermo "Willy" Falcon is a former trafficker known for overseeing one of the largest drug operations in history. According to The Sun Sentinel, he and his partner Sal Magluta were federally indicted in 1991 for allegedly running a continuing criminal enterprise that distributed over 75 tons of cocaine. They were eventually found not guilty in 1996. Shortly after, the United States Attorney's Office investigated their finances and found that two possibly bribed the jury.
