Center for Puppetry Arts

Kids of all ages can appreciate a good puppet show. Well at the Center for
Puppetry Arts in Midtown, you can do just that. The Center for Puppetry Arts opened its doors to the public on September 23,1978 when a puppet creator named Jim Henson and his sidekick puppet, Kermit the frog, cut the ceremonial ribbon. Today, the center is the largest American organization solely dedicated to the art of puppetry! Hey, did you know that they have a create-a-puppet workshop? Yes, you too can create a puppet! I enjoyed making the stinky cheese man puppet when I took my school kids to see the stinky cheese man show... WE LOVED IT! Beauty and the Beast is now onstage through May 29th, so get your tickets, sit back and become a kid AGAIN! Oh and don't forget to visit the Jim Henson exhibit and museum store. ENJOY the show!!

ZOO Atlanta

Lions, Tigers, Bears... OH MY!! Ok ok cheesy, but you get the picture! ITS THE ZOO...you will see all types of animals lounging in their environments. This past week, I took my school kids to visit the zoo and we were thrilled watching the meerkats, silver back gorillas and lions. The lions gave us a show and roared, and I must say, it was an exciting experience! The kids also got to ride the train and pet some animals in the petting zoo! They loved it. Zoo Atlanta offers many workshops and events like stroller cubs and mommy and me days. Fathers day is coming up and summer safari day camp is starting May 31-August 12. There is excitement waiting on you at Zoo Atlanta, so grab the kids and set out on a journey to remember!
