You remember her...that wild child from the Bronx who grew up to be a beautiful young lady...

Cats had their eye on her skills for a long time, but it wasn't until 1992 that her true influence was revealed...everyone wanted a piece of her then. Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth lost sleep reminiscing over her. Eric B. & Rakim normally didn't sweat their otherwise infallible technique, but they had an especially hard time winning this one over.

Remember her?

She gained prominence in '93 when the Souls of Mischief promised they would take her to infinity. Black Moon got mad propz when they courted her. Tupac said that he was strictly for his west coast N.I.G.G.A.Z., but we knew that he was truly down with her on the east side of things.

See...she was far from a ho. A young man by the name of Snoop Doggy Dogg wanted to do her doggystyle, but he knew she needed to make a commitment first. The west coast wanted to run game at her, but all Tribe wanted was a little electric relaxation. Meanwhile, cats in Shaolin recognized that if they EVER did her wrong, they would have to `proteck' their necks from those razor-sharp Wu Tang cats.

Remember '94 when she and Nas hooked up and got Illmatic?

The glam hadn't quite hit her at that point. Gang Starr made it hard for her to earn, but she stayed selfless and kept after her peoples. Biggie was ready to die back then, but she used her influence to keep him around for a few more years and make him a legend. She hopped on a plane to Atlanta to help a couple fly brothers out with their southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, but there was no way she could've predicted that they would run so D.E.E.P. together. Everybody wanted a piece back then, but she knew that she always
had faithfulness from one brother in Chicago...

Back then, Lonnie Lynn used to love H.E.R. so very much.

In '95 she caught a little ego. She started realizing that underground cats like The Roots wanted more from her, and that they would proceed to get it in any way that they could. Cats wanted a cheap f*ck, but she would only tolerate the verbal intercourse that only the likes of Raekwon could provide. She stayed real to the game.

She didn't go for caviar and crackers...she kept it real with a diet of strict soul food, courtesy of Cee-lo and his Goodie Mob crew. She kept that grimy edge to her...she moved back to the projects and became infamous for being seen with Havoc and Prodigy when they spent long nights in the lab together crafting that Queensbridge sound that made the competition SHOOK. Tensions were high back then; The Genius used to walk the streets with liquid swords daring anyone to step to her, but Pharcyde wasn't ABOUT to keep runnin' away from her, `cause they were on a mission to put her on lock.

Remember her?

Remember in '96 when she was on top of her game? She had both coasts and everyone in between screaming her name. She and Jigga came from out the woodwork and proved that, beyond a reasonable doubt, they were never gonna see regrets together. Nas had left on his own for a while, but he came back and gave her more power than ever. Big Boi and Dre needed another hit off of her grace, so undercover, over the hills and through the woods they went to find her again.

In '96 Xzibit came at her and laid the foundation down to convince her to roll with him on the way to the top. Even though she realized the nature of the threat derived from associating with such a militant cat like Ras Kass, she trusted her first instinct and ran with him. The Fugees knew how big the score was when dealing with her, so they rode her into the sunset like cowboys. Stakes was mad high with De La around that time, but they linked with ol' girl and paid off all debts...

...Then she fell off.

She lost focus of
