
23-year-old Juaquin Malphurs, a.k.a. Waka Flocka Flames was at a car wash when he was approached by an armed man demanding the rapper's jewelry, police said. "A scuffle broke out, then shots were fired," Fulton County police spokesman Sgt. Scott McBride said.
Malphurs was shot in the arm, and taken to a nearby hospital. Police are looking for a black man, about 22 years old, with a tattoo of a dollar sign on his left cheek, and tattoos between eyebrows of two circles, three squares and two more circles, wearing a white tank-top, blue jeans and red underwear.
The investigation is ongoing.
Malphurs has a number one hit with "O Let's Do It" and is affiliated with Gucci Mane.
